-.- question to those who work jobs they hate
9 years ago
So here's my question.......
How do you keep yourself from going mental? I've been doing the same job for over 2 years and all its been is pushing shopping carts and NOTHING ELSE I hate it greatly. I hate there is no challenge, near to no customer service, and more offen then not I am left bored for more then half of my shift. I get that not many carts are needed but I wish there was more to it. I gotten to the point where I don't even think the money is worth it at all. I have been trying to get a change of jobs but at no success. It is driving me up a wall to the point where I start to think every so offen being unable to work is better then this current job. So help how do you deal with it?

Best advice I can give there, just push on past it, sometimes you have to do crappie jobs to make ends meet, I was there for a long time too before I landed my current job, I even did plenty of two full time jobs, it's sadly the nature of the world we live in. Just take one day at a time and it will work out, just be patient and persevere, if you are reliable with your work, your boss will notice, just always remember, anything worth having will rarely fall in your lap, you have to work for it. Probably not what you want to hear but I would rather give an honest viewpoint than try to sugar coat things

Even tho I get less then 20 hrs a week and been at it for two years as well been late more then I would have want because I find home more entertaining then busing for about an hour to work 3-4 hours (sometimes even only 2 hours) then an hour back home?

To be fair that job sounds pretty good. Just pushing carts? I would trade jobs with you in an instant. I think people forget too easily on how cushy a job can be. You need to look on the bright side. You get to be outside in the open with just you and your thoughts. It gives you a lot of free time you don't have someone watching you constantly to see if you're doing your job. You can listen to music if you like or even get audio books. I'm not saying to give up on getting a different job. I'm just saying instead of looking at all the negatives think of all the benefits. You can get away with a lot of crap that people behind a register don't.

I get what your going at but 2 years of this have been soul crushing :/ and music is a no go so I have to try to hide it if I want to even a chance to listen to it. And after year one my thoughts while working have turned....... considerly dark ........ like how to get out of work ...... more then less good ways of doing so
