The process is going very slowly. I was supposed to be laid off this month, but I got called back for a partial contract. Now, as of Monday, I start back full time again, but it's even more tumultuous than a normal term for me. I am still working on stories. I'm in the middle of one commission which I've been doing for a while. I've got a few more ideas floating around for my own stuff. I haven't forgotten about your commission though. That is, assuming that you're still interested in having me write for you.
Yours is the one I've been working on for a while heh. It's half done. I was planning to use my lay off time to get it done, but that didn't happen, and now I'm recalled as Full time again ... with eventually two advanced writing classes to teach (and unfortunately mark for).
Well, I have been trying to think of a way to continue with the New Hope story (Chet's career change story). I've had some thoughts about how to let those events unfold. I think I'm going to make a temporary giant otter-based character. Since watching Zootopia, I've been enamoured with otters. They're soooooo cute. So I started doing some research into the different breeds of the species. I think the giant otter might be the most fitting for this particular story. They are mainly found in Brazil. Then I started thinking about what his name would be. I've had a few Brazilian students in my classes before, and so I thought about the most unique first name I could. That was easy. Thimoteo. You might think you know how to pronounce it, but in Portuguese, it's pronounced like "Chimocho". So that's the otter's first name. Then I wanted to give him a fairly common Brazilian family name, so I looked up the most common names. Here's where I have a problem heh. Correia is common, and it's supposedly related to the leather maker's craft. Grande is also common, and represents tall, or large. Maybe that's too cliche? Sardinha is also common and is related to sardine sellers. Kind of appropriate for an otter, perhaps?
The otter's part is not a major part of the overall story, just kinda of a key feature of the upcoming chapter though. Beyond that, I'd like to keep the plan a secret for now heh. I don't think that many people are actually that interested in the story itself, but we'll see.
That is a great question, and requires some research into the efficacy of using mayonnaise as an instrument. So I did some LOL
If by "instrument", you are referring to musical instrument, then the answer is a blunt and simple no. There are no sonic qualities of mayonnaise. It might be useful as a studio sound insulation material, although once its shelf life has been reached, that will require total renovation of the studio every couple of days. Not exactly a useful application of the condiment.
If by "instrument", you are referring to tool for a special function, then there is only one viable application I can think of. It's great for making sandwiches and salads taste better. ;)
There is really no easy way to answer the question about Chet's strength limit. The short answer is that I honestly don't want him to have a limit. I don't tend to focus on the sheer amount of weight that he lifts. Rather, the sexy part for me is the effort he puts into lifting those impressive tonnages. It's less about the sheer numbers than about the effort. the grunting, huffing and puffing, flexing harder and harder, pinning the ears back with sheer blind determination to use those muscles to do the incredible feat.
Having said that, I feel it's easier to not tie him down to number limits. When I RP, Chet's strength limits and feats tend to adapt to what the other person feels comfortable accepting. There are some people I RP with who love the idea of Chet lifting mountains with one hand. There are other who love that he lifts a car or a bus with both hands. No matter what, I try to focus on the actual effort of the lift. Maybe that's part of why some people think he's sexy.
As for the other question, I think everyone will have to answer that one for themselves heh. He's sexy to me because I love insane muscle definition and vascularity. The striations and the cross-striations are incredibly sexy to me. I'd be interested to know if you think Chet's sexy then why you think that. Maybe for some people, he's sexy because he's super strong but he's also very shy and unassuming about it. I can't exactly speak for others there.
Wow! You and I think alot alike. My lion is the same, shy, but super strong, and not afraid to show off. I also love super size muscle, vascularity, and everything that goes with that. So my answer to why I think Chet is sexy is just that. His
"showoffiness" his size and definition, and the way he conducts himself! Thank you so much for the in-depth answer! And your willingness to share him with all of us.
I don't think Chet is comfortable with just plainly showing off. He does really enjoy his strength, and he's willing to "share" what he can do with others. But it would really upset him if he thought that he went too far, if you know what I mean. If his strength made another fur feel insignificant or uncomfortable, that would really upset him. It would really make him shy and regretful. That's why he usually tries to keep his true strength to himself and not show it off too much.
I totally agree, and I should of put it that way. My lion enjoys showing others, that WANT to see what he can to, his strength, but most of the time he's a "behind the scenes" type personality. He would rather get something finished, and then say..."Im not sure how it got done, but now you don't have to worry about it." He never wants to be know as a conceded or boastful animal. But if someone REALLY wants to see his strength, he's very happy to show it.
Oh you would ask me the impossible question. I might have to go with the Ariel 4 wheel drive thingy. Can't remember the name of it. It's quick, it's nimble and it's a blast heh
It will get done. Thanks for the patience *blush*

Fun question and just bizarre enough.
