I saw this one too, and seem to recall him performing the Sesame Street song at the beginning as well. I was only twelve at the time.

Google says it was episode 0514 - April 12, 1973, which matches up with my age at the time.

They could never do this on Sesame Street today. At nearly seven minutes long, the song is about six minutes longer than a modern child's attention span!

That's awesome. Sesame Street remains one of the greatest children's programs ever. :)
