Oof. Now that I've had some sleep...

Thankfully, it turned out she'd turned off the service road and gone into a Wal-Mart. (Her husband did the smart thing and located her iPad.) She's home for now, at least, but isn't making any promises about the future.

Oof... my typing stinks right now, but at least my proofreading is improving...

Nobody told me this while I was at work, mind you, and I really wish they had. As it was, I spent most of the night worrying myself into nearly vomiting. My fear response may be busted, but stress works just fine.

But... yeah. She's home, safe and sound. No word yet on whether she'll forgive me, or whether I may be looking for a new job and new home. We... didn't talk when I got home this morning. Not beyond my saying, "I'm glad you're back. And now I'm going to bed before I say something stupid."

(hobbles over to a seat, legs still sore from walking somewhere in the neighborhood of five miles. (I can't check it -- the place I finally stopped isn't on the map.))
