Of Cons and Potato guns...

odd title I know, but it caught your attention didn't it? LoL This is my first journal here too BTW, thought I'd have a little fun and jump right into it...
First off, I want to thank and apologize to my watchers and those who've commented for my lack of response, I haven't been on for very long periods of time at once, usually just long enough to post something and maybe check if anything has been thrown up onto one of the pics...so again, I apologize for that, I'll work on it, okay? Alot of my time is still spent over on DA rather than over here...I'll respond alot faster if you comment over there(http://buzzthewolf.deviantart.com/), I'm on there all the time over there...
Anyway! moving on...I'll begin with the bit on the con...I WENT TO MY FIRST CON THIS PAST WEEKEND!!!!!1! it was awesome! never having been to one before and having no idea what to expect(sorta^^;) it was just pure and total awesomeness!!! granted it was a somewhat smaller con...nevermind, doesn't matter, it was awesome! I got a Wooden sword(It has the kanji for 'Honor' inscribed on it), pocky, a Pirate flag(random, I know, but it's a friggin PIRATE FLAG! and not one of those cheapy ones either!) and some of that japanese soda(Ramune) that you have to jam that blasted marble into the bottle in order to open it(They make you WORK for your drink!). Saw all kinds of crazys(granted everyone there, including myself, falls into that category) in costumes(didn't have one myself, but I will next year!) and one thing that I've never seen before, which kinda was kinda creepy, and no offense to anyone reading this, A guy referring to himself as 'A Furry' when someone asked what he was and said that he looked kinda like Starfox...it was an old dude that was going bald(like the dude from Seinfeld, the short one...), soooo outta place at this con...ugh*shudders*...creepy...anyway, moving on...
...that was all yesterdays stuff(except the 'meeting' of the fur, that was today), today we went back a little later in the day, cause we had pretty much seen all there was to see of the little 'shops' and artists alley and such, tooday we went back because they play anime ALL DAY LONG, and have about ten or more rooms playing all at once! we went back to see "Wolfs Rain"(which was friggin awesome BTW, I got to see the first two episodes, and let me tell ya...AWESOME) and "Chrono Crusade"(some series about nuns and whatever the guys are called,I'm not that religious if you can't tell, with GUNS. NUNS WITH GUNS. weird. They also seemed to have an obsession with lens flares too...worse than they did in star trek, they used them in the most awkward of places...), we also ended up seeing "Scrapped Princess"( Hilarious series BTW, only got to see one of the three episodes, i think it was three anyway, but it looked very funny), we saw that last one because we got to the Room early and had about a half an hour ta kill. Glad we stayed though!
Okay, on to the bit about the Potato Gun(cannon is more like it!)...
...Some may have noticed my slow responses to everything this last week(some not so slow, but that's because I would get immediate responses), I've built my very own POTATO CANNON!!! again, awesome! used the designs from a magazine called "Make Mag", awesome magazine, always has some cool thing you can DIY and works properly. anyway, the cannon actually calls for clear PVC, but that stuff is friggin expensive, we just used regular, though it would have been sooooooo cool to be able to see the explosion coming from the chamber. the thing is designed to fire 200+ yards...ours went about, eh, 75-100 yards, but! but the instructions call for a 100000 volt taser...we used an electric BBQ ignighter...and for being the equilivent of a really powerful static shock, it did pretty well for itself! I might be taking it up north with me next weekend when I go visit some friends out on a lake and see what kinda distance I can get outta it(we kept loosing it over the trees in my friends backyard)...
anyway, I think that's all for now...OH! Question! If I were to start doing trades, Requests and such, would anyone be interested?
