Do Furry Artists get Taken Seriously?
So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately, because I'm trying to work on creating a logo/mascot for myself and my art, moving ahead towards being more professional. After all, when going to art college, I might want to have a "brand" to be known for... a character, a logo, a signature. Looking at my own characters that could be used, I have a lot of humans, but not too many of them stick out.
So, I wanted to throw this out there, are people with animal mascots taken seriously? Has anyone gotten by in the industry being represented by something other than themselves?
Idk some opinions or feedback would be nice, I'm just curious about the subject. Has anyone made a brand for themselves on their characters? What do you think?

I'm going to try going this route later on... I have a little bit of a name for myself ( human self) and I think I'll be combining the two of them. So people are really drawn to my fursona, some find it silly.
