ANE Mumblings - music stuff
I went to ANE a few weeks ago (anthro new england) - I basically was riding a high off Furpoc and decided to book a show with my "Band" (i.e.
tannerin and
huskiepaws and Surly who I through my songs at in a month's notice!), then later regretted it. Because I've been in bands for 15 years and I'm sick of it! Carrying equipment and playing for no one, I've done it for so long.
However, when it was all said and done, I certainly don't regret playing this show. A lot of people came out! A LOT, like 30 or 40 people, literally the most people any band I've ever played in has drawn. It was pretty awesome, and thanks for all of you who came out! I can't believe I was just missing a raccoon costume!
(So far the only video to have surfaced is by mr. Inu Okami)

So after the show, we went down to get a cart for the equipment and when I came back a bunch of people I didn't know where jamming on the equipment. (much to the chagrin of the displaced cakecon people trying to set up a DJ set, sorry guys!) It reminded me of high school when people used to just jam for no reason, it was kind of awesome!
I was kind of thinking, for the next con I play a show at, perhaps I can arrange an hour afterwards (or before) of Open mic / Free jam time, where people can just play whatever they want! Does that sound like a good idea. Until this moment at ANE i had no idea there was a market for it in the furry universe.
Here's some links to my music. (album is almost done, recorded by the great
peppercoyote and being mixed and mastered by the UNFATHOMABLE
bd it's 93 percent done)

A recent Eurofurence also had an "extra" stage in the middle of a lobby area where many a jam took place.
Your album - yep it's nearly done! Interesting to hear some of the "demo" versions there on your Soundcloud page too, for comparison with the finished ones. And for those interested, I did more than mix/master - I played drums on several, bass on a few, guitars here and there, and lots of harmony vocals..."Evil Boys and Evil Girls" is one of the finished examples. it's a good trio, you Pepper and me, I hope we can do more sometime!
My only regret is not capturing the entire thing on my phone. But we got one song, and it made it to the elevator!
Good times, bro... Looking forward to bumping into you again at the next convention, and doing a pre-show like
we all did at ANE while waiting for everyone to show up lol... By the way, open mic before/after sounds AWESOME!
Ciao!
