It may be tricky to tell for people that don't know him or people who aren't totally familiar with how to read the tone in a text passage, but this was an example of sarcasm. Living in an Era where everyone is offended by everything, and taking into account that people have been getting offended by superbowl commercials for years, he was pretending to be both ignorant of the guardians of the galaxy franchise and offended by the commercial as a way to poke fun at the kinds of people who routinely find offence in everything.
