I have to say it (vent)

my art sucks
That's how I feel rn... I keep trying to improve but I'm getting nowhere, not only that but I'm getting worse *cry*
I don't know how to get better and it's the most frustrating thing
Everything's always so inconsistent
I don't actually have any natural talent for this stuff, I just kept at it for years and only recently got confident enough to show it to people
I have a terrible eye for colours and it all looks bad
graaah
what do
Ok I'm done now, sorry about that outburst :/

Your art is cute! It's very clean, and you have a unique style, I can absolutely pick your art out anytime it's in my notifications.
Color theory can be really tough, but if you keep at it, I know you'l get it in no time!
Here's a fun site that helps me out all the time, because my color theory is rubbish~

Another thing that helps me when I feel like I'm stuck in a rut is to just find something I want to draw and make a whole sketch page out of it. Even if it's something silly like....a bug or something.
I am rooting for you! I really do love your art a lot and I know you'll find that creative spark again =)
That link looks really useful, I'll keep it bookmarked for next time :)
Bug, you say? Ahh, I see an opportunity to do some sketches of a soon-to-be-mine mantis...
Thank you again for being there and giving some much-appreciated support and advice ❤
Getting stuck on art is so extremely frustrating! We've all been there before.
I think that's a great idea! I'd love to see some mantis doodles =)
It's honestly not a problem at all <3 I will always be here if you need to vent a little bit or ask for some help on something, we gotta stick together <3
Listen, I dont know how long you draw but I know for sure that you are making your work up there. I didnt draw fullbodies and different poses for so long. And you do! And I think its good. You have lots of resources on the internet, too! Use it, use reference. Its there to help. If you dont know how smth look you can't draw it good. Thats why you can use refs!
You should try a challenge or collab or trades more. Look a lot at stuff. Most of art is years of experience not a talent!! You need to teach your eye a lot.
I struggle with things like this, too. I got better with colors but I still use lots of filters. And thats okay! Use textures or anything that can help you out.
Note me sometime if you need help or want to collab/trade ❤
I have a heck of a lot to learn, but I'll definitely come to collab or trade with you in the future!
Please, just don't give up. I believe in you
I will indeed keep posting, because of the support I have from you and others!

I relate so much
Dude, don't worry about this at all, DON'T WORRY, inconsistency is the best way to go about it!!
Search through styles and try as many as you want, mix them up, and it'll be great! <3 Personally I always find trying out a new style (sometimes shamelessly stolen from a pic I liked for example, shhh ><" i can't be the ONLY ooone) good to beat a lil art block.. perhaps it'd help you too?
I already like your art a lot, but I get the frustration.. but if you think your art isn't good, that's only gonna push you to make it better!
God i sound so patronising, sorry, not really my point, but I really think that!
Also don't worry about colours at all, mix'em however :U I've no idea about colours either, i just know i like neon so i neon *fingerguns* you just do the same bruh. You'll get over the bad phase!
Maybe I'll just own it and go for several styles, haha
And YES I do that too you're definitely not alone there! ^^"
Nah you don't sound patronising at all, I really appreciate you dropping in like a neon whirlwind of encouragement!
No problem! And yeah, go for it! And if needed - just take a break. No-one's gonna judge you for that x3
Have fun experimenting!
(And i'm taking this nickname for myself. Neon Whirlwind sounds fantastic )
Art is just always blooming, sometimes it takes a little is all. But if you keep drawing, before long you will be better!
Also try looking at really old art and your art today, it helps
(Also I saw your get well soon card and your art is pretty damn cute!)
My favorite thing to do, when I'm feeling like I'm in a rut, is to pick some of my favorite artists and try to imitate their styles! You really gotta look at what they're doing: how did they make the colours look like that, how did they shade that way, what kind of lines did they use? And you might not imitate them perfectly, but you're forcing yourself to get critical about what you're doing and might even pick up new techniques and new methods along the way! And then you integrate that into your own style and you evolve!
Artists are always their own worst enemy, and it's cause we spend like, what hours?? DAYS?!?!? staring at a piece. So we're like "ugh, look at that line there, look at this colour, look at all these tiny individual parts". Then most people look at that piece for like, 20 seconds at, go "huh, nice whole! *fav*"
Good luck, I think you're doing great!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to say all this, I am feeling a lot better and more optimistic :)
No no no,your art is sooo cute and pretty good.I really like them.
You have confidence to show them, that means you are satisfied with your art.Don't loose it,Ok? ;)
Keep posting, you will improving little by little. Then you will become another Kenket,or maybe blotch. Who knows? ;)
