MFW when a TG story features a sexist male character,

... and he acts and thinks like he fell out of What Tumblr Thinks Sexual Harassers Are Actually Like tree and hit every branch on the way down.
There is no way this guy should be able to function as an employee, much less a former "successful manager". If he has a guardian angel keeping him out of trouble, he doesn't think about or mention them even once.
I've seen three-paragraph Deviantart TG stories that are more subtle and realistic. Caption stories.
I'm sure a wealth of people could give a wealth of anecdotal stories about genuinely awful people gaining unbelievable success in their world, and nowhere is it more omnipresent than in industrial careers.
That said, it really seems to be a product of narrative and revenge and comeuppance. The higher the fall's origin, and the more deserving the bastard is for his hubris, the more satisfying the outcome when, for example, a haughty manager gets turned into a secretary.
Yes it's really shallow and one dimensional, but I reckon there's more people reading those kinds of stories for their erotic tones rather than a desire for the author to go deep and philosophical.
Still, nice when you have those rare instances of narrative depth and well-crafted characters *and* all the eroticism of transmogrification.
