Anyone have an old RCA/S-video AV Switcher Box? (for games)
Hey guys. I was just wondering if anybody out there has an old A/V switcher box that they have no plans to use in the future?
I'll pay for the shipping.
I'm building a large, fancy retro gaming room for my house, and I need an A/V switcher so I can plug all my nintendo systems (NES, SNES, N64, GCN) into my old CRT television.
However, I want to use the S-video cables, since all accounts say that the picture is vastly improved over the standard composite cables.
My current AV switch box seems to mess up the signal with S-video, causing some very noticable ghosting/shadows. Not acceptable. :(
It's basically doing this: https://i.redditmedia.com/seNflJHIM.....525bcb27831d4e
I've done a bit of research, and I believe this is because the switch box is not powered, which causes the signal to be reduced. Because when I plug it DIRECTLY into the TV, it looks fine.
If you are familiar with this problem and can correct me though, please do speak up.
So yeah. Here's what I need...
I need an A/V switcher box...
... with multiple RCA/S-video inputs (and RCA/S-video output)
... and it needs to be powered by a plug/adapter (so the signal can be boosted.)
Again, I will pay for the shipping.
Basically, one of these:

... except with a plug/adapter, so the signal is boosted.
Please send a message or post below if you have one. Photos are helpful!

Do powered switches like this even exist? I never saw one back in the day, but I didn't look too hard.
Could be a cabling issue with your setup. Might need better shielded/expensive cables to prevent the ghosting/artifacting.
In the last year I went the hardcore route and got my consoles RGB modded and now use SCART cables and switches for my classic gaming needs.

Get an unpowered switch and use this booster. I'd give it a shot if I was still using s-video.
I've had good luck with the RAM Electronics powered switcher: https://www.ramelectronics.net/40-803.aspx Unfortunately, it's not inexpensive and I no longer have mine.
So a powered/amplified switcher is almost certainly the solution, then?
(Actually, it's for an old Coleco console I've got knocking about the residence...)
Depends how much it is, and how heavy it is. How much do you expect shipping to Canada would cost?
