Moving here from my old account! (and why?)

Why am I moving?
My name was always just "Storm". It isn't very unique, but I chose it for personal reasons. Sadly it's usually already taken on various platforms, just as it was in case of FA. So I came up with the stupid idea of mimicking my signature by adding three dashes before and after it. It sounded fun at the time...
When I started becoming more serious about art I realized I need a name that is unique and that is most likely still free across platforms for me to register. The idea came from my Second Life name - back then you had to chose a last name from a list, and I chose "Engineer" because I loved steampunk. So I thought, I already have this name in SL, I could just use that for consistency! A quickly Google search revealed that it's also pretty unique too.
I registered this account on FA as a placeholder, and for a while was hoping that FA implements the much requested name change after all, but it never happened... Now that I'm getting really serious about making art and my name is starting to get out there I decided to bite the bullet and manually migrate to this account.
What will happen with my old account?
It will stay there, with all the existing art, scraps and favorites. Journals will be mostly pruned, and "MOVED" warnings placed around the account.
My latest artworks will be re-uploaded here while scraps and older art stays there.
Will anything else change?
A few things. I already had some plans, now that I'm doing the move it may be the right time to also get these under way:
- My TOS will be reworked. The old TOS applies to existing commissions and the new one will apply to new commissions.
- My pricing and commission info will be greatly reworked. I improved a lot since my first pricing scheme was created, and also my techniques changed so it just doesn't work anymore. Again, existing commissions stay under the old pricing, but new ones will go by the new prices. Until the rework is done, commissions are temporarily closed, except for some experimental slots I'll open soon.
- I'm going to move from Notes to Email for communication because FA Notes are very unreliable - they can get lost completely, or stay in the sender's Outbox "unopened" without ever being delivered to the recipient, making the sender think they just didn't open it. Also, if FA goes down again for whatever reason, communication would be completely cut.
- I'm finally setting up my personal and portfolio websites. The personal site will have a blog where I write about all kinds of things from stories of my past travels to articles on art related subjects.
So what's next after the move is complete?
First of all finishing existing commissions, doing some experimental ones to help in reworking my prices, then reopening regular commissions once the new TOS and pricing is ready.
In the long run I want to focus on art research, study and practice to improve my art skills faster, and working towards saving up funds for Eurofurence as well as some art related investments such as courses or hardware.
