Which is one of my main problems with this game. Sonic is slowly becoming more of a Mario clone than a distinct character on his own. Sonic Shuffle ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Shuffle ) is an obvious rip-off of the Mario Party series and the rest of the Sonic games are slowly becoming more Mario-ish.

Frankly i believe that Sonic should stay in 2D, SEGA has no idea how to make Sonic into 3D.

I highly doubt that SEGA would stop selling Sonic games in the U.S. That would be a bad idea to do so (market wise).
