What's happened now?

Depicting newborns with naked women (like in childbirth) are now banned under the AUP - effective immediately and retroactively. It is, of course, being selectively enforced so it's likely my gallery will get gutted.

Given this attitude, I think it's better to jump ship versus getting shoved. IMVU ownership is proving to be disastrous.

You seem to have misunderstood the situation - the rules concerning this have been the same at least since August 2015 when the last full AUP revision was introduced. Those policies have been in effect since 19 Aug 2015, two weeks after the new rules were rolled out, as was announced via Fender's journal and sitewide notifications linking to that journal. Content that had previously slipped under the radar was recently reported and summarily removed, that's all.

There has been no sudden change in policy.

I think the part that is the most upsetting is that this was content that was 100% OK under the old AUP, and was posted under that AUP - but the rules are now just banning it. I'm not blaming you (I think all the times I've ever dealt with you as an admin, its all been pretty positive experiences) I'm mostly just stating that if my contributions are no longer valued or acceptable content on this site, I will take my presence elsewhere and not darken FA's doorstep with my artistic endeavours anymore. It's IMVU's sandbox now, and the rules are the rules - if I don't like them, then I should take my toys and go home or at least take them a new sandbox where I am not an a renegade or face possible repercussion for breaking any current or future rules (whatever those would be and whenever those rules would be enacted and enforced).

I can't say offhand what the last version of AUP that permitted such content was - it could have been the last version before the current one or it could have been one of the iterations preceeding that. I understand it's frustrating to find you need to remove or alter your content due to AUP updates (hell, I've had to modify some of my content/submission information to conform with AUP, too!), but that is exactly why we have a two week grace period after the introduction of new rules - to give users the time to review their galleries and make any necessary alterations.

I'm very sorry this makes you feel unwelcome. We are happy to have all of our users on the site, even if we have to ask them to keep some subset of their content off FA, but I understand wanting to find a "home" where all of your content is welcome.

No sudden change in policy? Then why a sudden mass wiping of such content? I smell something faecal related that comes out of bovines...

You may want to see your local ENT specialist for that - smelling things that aren't there is usually not a good sign.

As I already stated, content was reported, and the rules that have been in place since at least August 2015 (I do not offhand know the exact wording of the relevant rule prior to the last AUP revision, so I can't say whether it would have been against the rule prior to that) were enforced when the content was reviewed. The perceived "mass wiping" would simply be a result of more such content (that you are aware of - keep in mind that similar content might have been removed previously from accounts you do not have any particular connection with) having been reported recently.

You may want to get your head checked, missing very obvious things, such as being called out for bullshit, is not a good sign. (see? I can be a competently asinine smartass as well!).

Also it's not a "perceived" mass wiping when several artists on my watch list are all hit with reports within the same, very short time span. Or perhaps maybe, the three artists listed in this very journal! Who in case you haven't noticed (something I can't fault you on, clearly something's wrong there) have all been hit, as I said, within a very short time span. In fact, within days of each other. Needless to say, that's very suspect.

What was even the rationale behind the change? It makes little sense and screams "double standards" from the roof tops when one considers everything else that's still allowed.
We can depict people getting murdered, any number of snuff situations, but heaven forfend we see a nipple *gasp* with a child in the same picture! It's almost as if nipples and minors are something never ever seen together...

I understand why you are drawing the conclusion that it's a mass wiping. I do. However, the reported and removed content featuring birth- and breastfeeding-related themes is still only a small portion of the reports we receive every day. It is not, as "mass wiping" would imply, a concentrated effort by staff to purge the site of a specific type of content. We take action based on reported content; if more of these images have been removed recently, that's a direct reflection of an influx of reports, reporting those specific submissions, nothing more.

Again, there was no recent change. I can't even recall if that particular rule received significant rewording in the last AUP update (August 2015). Any changes made at that time would have been either to make the rules clearer or to shore up loopholes that people were using to push boundaries and post content that was not intended to be permitted.

And yes, that is correct. We permit accurately rated violence, including death, and do not permit Mature+ rated nudity or sexual situations in content depicting minors. If nipples/genitalia are covered (e.g. nipples by the head of a nursing child, genitalia by a strategically positioned leg or tail), we have no issue with birthing/breastfeeding artwork being posted.

Permitting birthing, but without showing genitals. Yeah I would love for you to find a piece...fuck that, make it 5 pieces of birthing that don't show genitalia. Go ahead, try.

If you're not in the business of lying, don't give me reason to think otherwise.

I still find this sudden influx of reports suspicious, clearly nobody has cared for up to two damn years. But whatever.


And finally thank you very much for repeating back to me what I already said, while again missing the point. What was the rationale? Because I see none, again while considering the sheer number of other shit that's considered perfectly acceptable. Because it still puts us in this absurd situation where death is perfectly fine, but "Breast feeding!? REEEEEEEEE!" Engage arbitrary exclusion!

I'm at both Inkbunny and Weasyl. I'd say Inkbunny, since their child rules are looser than Weasyl's.

Not that I know of - but considering the changing rules and how they are retroactively enforced doesn't give me much hope anymore.

Inkbunny may have some questionable content on it, but they also have really good filtering systems. Don't know much about Weasyl. There's also e621.
