I notice something about this place

It is a lot about relationships rather than self exploring and expression. I tend to favor the latter but it is in a minority. The raw appeal to couple images, character interactions, and so on is really rooted in this culture. It is drowning in quantity and I think that the lack of balance can distort one's perspective if invested on this site (like many are). More will seek expectations of others rather than their own growth. Do character interactions need to stop? Oh no, they have just as much as importance. I just think this place is devaluing that purpose by constantly having works of art depicting similar actions. I pride in going in a direction not expected. I like to feel that I know the realms of normality and ways to tease it. I feel more should tease it, it is refreashing. So uh, goodnight? haha.
*v* But yea, rambles gotta come out at some point, sometimes. Might make good topics, or a series of events of "Et cetera". (Freakin ect.)
I guess what I am saying is, all expressions of art are valid and important and beautiful, no matter how often or rarely they are presented; however, it is clear that a highly disproportionate value is placed on character relationships and interactions and much less value placed on self-exploration. it's a sad state of affairs.
(Don't mind me bumping you, excuse me..)
While thinking about what you guys are saying on this topic, I have found a good number of visual, written, and even musical pieces that seem to reflect the moods people go through at the moment. Not every expression is on point or should be treated as a crying wolf, but there are times where some people's work gives you a hint on what was on their mind during the time they wanted to create it.
Although, we all have some kind of habit we wear...
If you can't take my word on that, explore any person's Journal entries on Affinity, spare the nitty-gritty, and just think about how reading someone's thoughts and commission logs might make you feel in their shoes.
Ever really watched a User turn 180? This is a serious question without angles or using usernames, think about it.

Oh yea, somewhere in the world, I remember watching a topic about longing and nostalgia. On a large scale the media plays with that on everything! I think along time ago Pre-2000s artists had other reasons. ...Art History stuff.
Yup.
It is important to challenge people's ideas. A belief that cannot be challenged is not a belief worth having. Even if I cannot change their minds, well, at least I opened them to the possibility of them being wrong. Self improvement is truly an amazing thing, and it should not be undervalued. It would also be a lie if I were to say I do not have fun being a little contrarian.
For example, I enjoy facing challenges that give me a chance to express value in things that have limited uses. People I know tend to become my personal guides like that. The thing is throughout my life. until I started digging all over the place anybody could've told me at this point that people's perspectives are not flexible. Through hardships, I would almost believe that. I would have to look at my own values, close my eyes and think of stuff like: "What is right, what is false, what is left..."
Now, only when I know without a doubt that a topic might be putting my perspective in a very real and dire spot I would feel that I need to challenge it with my own experiences or those I know. Even as we speak, I try not seeming indecisive to people. It is a challenge trying to help others think of the sides of a story. A person in power might even question being willing to be challenged for the sake of maintaining their force.
