I needed this in my life before it was too late.
Friend of mine told me about this new game he had never heard of either, and it's the first game in a while that I felt the need to play it immediately. He was kind enough to gift it to me and I made a bit of progress in it; liking it so far.
Trailer pretty much speaks for itself. It's a Metroidvania, inspired by Dark Souls, and with cutesy character designs.
Any of those peak your interest, by all means, give it a shot.
