Bill Paxton, star of Twister, passed away today after heart surgery. As a weather geek, this strikes a bit close to home. He was 61.

Yes I did, Stilghar. The weather community, for as large as it has become, is still a pretty tight-knit group. The group did the same thing when Tim Samaras and his crew were killed in THE El Reno tornado in May, 2013.
