So Im kicking around the idea of making a Space Goat Base
people can buy and make their own or make some for friends
or adoptables for themselves.
Whatcha think?

Space Goats are so beautiful!
Cause i've been dying to get one of these, but i've always fail to get them in time as the batch is quickly snatch up in the heat beat and not to mention that a few other online buddies of mines, wanted one too! ; v;/
I think you should keep it a closed species. From what I've seen with closed species becoming open...the community changes a lot and it often becomes a handful.
I mean just look at the Dutch angel dragon community...there's a lot of people that don't follow the rules of the species and it's kind of chaotic.
I think people would abuse your generosity.
If the reason you're thinking about making them open is because more people want one faster than you can make them....then maybe do more PYOP or maybe even get other artists to get in on your species and you can split the profit with them!
That way there's more to satisfy the demand, but also not just giving the community free range for it.
I just don't want to see this unique and great species become tainted by people D:
And if not a PYOP perhaps selling some make your own slots!

I think if you do make a base, and allow people to make adopts it, you should only sell a limited quantity of them so that way it's more controlled? Or just don't let it be used for adopts. I don't know. ;0;
As someone who makes adopts to earn a large portion of my income, it's an appealing thought...but I would rather see the species stay interesting and unique and with quality designs, than see everyone have one and them be super basic/crappy/overrated.
That's just my opinion, though. ;0;
Obviously it's yours and your decision in the end, so I just hope you can make one you're happy with!
To add though, maybe some MYO slots or events could be a good option so that people can design their own to be submitted and approved? That way those who couldn't get one because they sold so fast would have a chance?

Many have stated why, and I just echo it.
They are your creation, and special. Yes its hard to get one sometimes, but that's just one reason why
they are so special.
Maybe pick another artist or a few to do some as well, like someone said above.
(Though I like having you and Scarlet doing them.)
Id even offer, like one a month or so, like I was doing with TiniKings.
IDK I just feel they are best suited to be kept in your hands, with guest artists maybe tossing in one here and there.
Trust me, there's enough shitty versions of open species concepts on this site, I'd hate to see another species I like seeing go through that.
On one hand I would fosho pick up the base. I love the species and would enjoy working with them, but I share some the same concerns of other people on making them an "open" species. I really would prefer you not lose a very rare nitch that you've earned. Its hard to create a species that people sit on the edge of their seat for <3.
If the demand is outpacing you and stressing you out, you could bring on a guest artist or two to do collaborations, that way the control and limitation is still in place and you know your species is being done proper respect and justice.
