Filed my taxes today.

Obamacare wants to eat 75% of my federal returns, so I have to mail an appeal to London to get an exemption.
Just like I always knew was going to happen, this "affordable care act" nonsense does nothing but hurt people like me who live in the bottom income brackets.
I hope President Trump makes America great again!

Anyway, the real problem is that medical costs are exploding out of control, due to an unhealthy, uncompetitive market. No insurance plan, federal or private, will fix the problem if a $500 procedure costs $10,000 for no damn reason. They can repeal the ACA and privatize everything, but insurance plans will just continue to increase in cost and deny coverage for everything. It's really amazing how the rest of the world has already figured this out, but even with templates to follow, the USA refuses to accept nationalized insurance can actually work.
"Obamacare" is not the problem, and no replacement will be the solution. Cutting FDA funding, cutting corporate taxes, and rolling back industry regulation won't help, either.
1 Nationalized insurance competes with a couple minor quirks of our law systems design. Most socialist things do. I can't point to anything in specific, because I'm not a lawyer. But I do have a good feel for what the Founding Fathers were all about, and I can see signs of their work basically any time I see law in action. Our system on a fundamental level, is designed to discourage foul behavior, and run everything else acceptably if it succeeds in the first line. Basically every change to the culture or the law is able to throw a wrench in a machine designed to work like this. Which is a major reason Americans with a love of law don't want to let in immigrants willy-nilly. And it's also why making a law is supposed to be insanely difficult(Which as a note is why I hate riders).
2 Yes he was talking about the utterly garbage tax for not paying a loanshark to almost look out for your health in incredibly specific circumstances.
