Working Bears: Thoughts and Future
So, I have now at long last finished 'Working Bears 2', and some of you might now be wondering if there will be any more. The short answer is I don't know. The longer answer is maybe, it depends on all sorts of things.
At the moment, I feel a little disheartened. The three new Working Bears stories were the things I put the most time and effort into out of all the stuff I posted last week, and yet seem to have had the least number of favs. It's more than a little disappointing.
But that hasn't put me off the series completely, although I will be working on other stuff before I even start thinking of doing more.
Also, more Working Bears depends on me being able to come up with stories I want to write. I'm not going to do more just for the sake of doing more. And I don't want to get repetitive, so I'd have to come up with stories that are different enough to interest me. Please don't take that as an invitation to offer suggestions though, I'd prefer to write stuff I came up with myself.
I have had a few thoughts about future stories, but right now, they are just vague ideas. Like doing something with Victor visiting his brother. Or maybe finally looking at Thurman's past, since I mentioned in one story that he had once been in love. I also kind of like the idea of doing more with Axe and Red's relationship, possibly something involving them getting married.
But yeah, those are just basic ideas, not full story ideas, so who knows if they'll develop enough for me to want to write them. It's a matter of waiting to see what my imagination comes up with.
Also, I had another thought regarding Working Bears. A while back a friend suggested releasing Working Bears, with some extra material, as an ebook. With Working Bears 2 now done, I find myself thinking about that idea again.
So I was curious, would anyone be interested if I were to try to publish some form of Working Bears collection (with some additional exclusive stories) at some point, either as an ebook or a physical book? Is that something you could see yourself buying?

But as a small wish. Would love to see a new Mitchell and Michael story.
As for the ebook idea. I'd buy it for sure
So far as an ebook is concerned i dunno how id feel honestly. Nothing personal or against working bears (its my favourite 'series' on fa right now) but i just find it awkward when writers get you hooked on an awesome series for free; and then lock the new chapters behind a paywall. I would definately spend money on a working bears physical book though; with or without new content.
Also....i totally support '1mastermind' in saying id love more 'Mitchell and Michael' as well. Its agonising whenever a story ends with 'to be continued' but then never does.
I totally love your Working bears series, you got a lot of stuff in to to mine, Dr Thurmans past love. why does he actually DO what he does [Ego, Vanity ?] he doesn't seem short of money, and not one to just kick back and be pampered by a personal harem of slaves either ? [When he easily could] Victor visiting his brother would be cool, he'd prob be less than happy to see him [Less inheritance for brother] I found myself wondering about Red and Axe too, do the other WB actually KNOW they're a couple ?? [Don't seem too in Pleasure doing business] you could even do a story about the "Victims" of Pleasure doing business, they "Suddenly" find themselves submissive to "Bears", So would any of them actually end up customers of the WB club ? fuelled by this new desire.... Saw Sex wrestling got a mention too and Servus inc
I get what you mean though if it was just same old same, some uniformed bear or other gets enslaved in one way or another would just seem like box ticking for Hypno bear week. Already told you this as a page shout, but WB2 inspired me to start writing again !!, already done 10+ pages of outline and roughs for a 7 part [1 a day] series for next years Hypnobear week, and trust me it is **DIFFERENT**, very twisty and in a way I don't think anyones already done [Within the confines of the weeks rule]
I would certainly buy WB as a book or Ebook [Have all 3 House of Lazerus in comic bags and very much treasured/well read, think I could even quote them all from memory]
My personal wish list, would be the last part of House of Lazerus [I'd love a Butler/Eddie/Dexter origin spin off too, or a House of Lazerus / Thurman industries Cross over ??] Also love the last part of Micheal and Mitchell [Daniel is one of my all time faves of all your charas, but I seem to go for head slaves, so #1 is Butler #2 Victor....] Sincerley hope you don't just Shelve Working bears forever
Oh yeah always felt 10 weeks and Apprentice no more deserved sequals too
