Correction: Hi-Point is a poor man's gun. Seriously. I actually had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago, though it didn't involve a confrontation, but I went to a local gun store and as I approached the door, I saw a sign that read in big, bold letters "USE OF CELL PHONES TO COMPARE PRICES IN THE STORE IS NOT ALLOWED"

I had two immediate thoughts, the first was "Okay, it's not any of your fucking business what I use MY cell phone for." the second was "All that sign does is announce that you're price gouging and you know it and you don't care." Still went in and looked, but won't ever buy anything from them.

And something else just occurred to me. Showing off a SIG Sauer and talking crap about the Beretta? Sounds like he might be a SEAL fanboy/wannabe SEAL. I hate those people with a fucking passion >_< It's fine to admire them, I certainly do, but just because a spec ops unit prefers one piece of equipment over another doesn't really mean a whole lot.

Thing is that's not entirely accurate. SEALs use the SIG P226 as a sidearm most of the time, but SOCOM gets a lot of flexibility with what they can carry and I've been told that if they deploy on an op where they work with the Army or, more often, Marines, they'll carry whatever sidearm they're using. I think as of now, the Marines have been using an M1911 variant.
