Just shows you. In olden times rabbits were more badass than now. I blame our domestication on human breeding practices.

It's the cages and pellets. Once you have shelter and food, you become docile.

We mice retain our competitive edge, as we are still considered vermin.

Lots of bunnies like a nice cushy life with someone to cater to their every need. Others of us are a bit more independent. But none of us are exactly docile. Ask any human who 'owns' a rabbit.

Au contraire, my freckle-nosed friend. I'd argue that bunnies are still every bit as badass as ever. It's just that we've convinced people to let down their guard! Maybe some of us are pets, but have no doubt that even the most domestic bunny rules the roost!

You may just have a good point there. That and we can't get away with just grabbing and butchering them anymore. So maybe, like cats, we've enslaved and domesticated them instead of the other way around.

Either way, I'd contest the lifeless eyes part. Bunny eyes are very expressive if you know how to read them.

Just replace "bunny" with "shark" and you've got a quote from Jaws. I probably wouldn't have recognized it myself, except I only just re-watched Jaws 1-3 last summer on a whim. And regretted the last one.

I've only watched Jaws 1. Last time was a couple of years ago and it didn't hold up all that well to me. I wouldn't have been interested in watching more. ;3

I probably wouldn't have bothered, either, except they were available for streaming on NetFlix and I was kind of in the mood for cheese. I really wouldn't recommend any of the sequels unless you just like watching terrible films to laugh at them.

Wow. I knew that modern perceptions of animals are much different than they used to be when most people had to compete with them more directly for food, or try desperately to avoid ending up on their dinner menu. But I'd never seen art showing rabbits actually skinning a man alive before! As a historian, I'm quite intrigued. Meanwhile, my inner rabbit is just rubbing her paws with glee. Rabbits might be cute, but nobody with teeth like that should ever be considered harmless!

You know what they say. What goes around comes around. I can just see a momma bunny feeding her kits some nice hot human stew on a cold winter's eve.

No probs. I found it while trying to find out if there really were rabbits hurting people drawn way back when or if the picture I linked to in the journal was a creation of the person who posted it. Apparently it's an authentic pic from medieval times that he used for a meme.

Indeed! So many of the ancients had great technique. There is no excuse for not showing them with glowing eyes!!
