I can try. What I really should do is just set a simple timer so that every 30 mins I save manually.

Theres a mod that saves your canvas every few minutes. If this is a constant issue for you, you should consider downloading it.

If you use sai/clipstudio, when you save inks as png, have you tried setting the layer as 'Multiply' so the lines are still usable?
If it still shows the sketch, you can fiddle with the saturation/light to make the sketch disappear & leave the lines only. It has saved my butt countless times.

TBH I thought about it but it already looks better on the second time around lining and there were some big parts I wanted to change anyway.
