question about raising commission price

thinking of raising the comm price from 30 to 40, and leave it there, with no extra charges for complexity

30 is too cheap for my poor arm

I asked that on tumblr and twitter yesterday, and everyone still thinks that is too cheap. specially for doing all the commissions on stream, startin and finishing them there.

so im torn between 40-50usd per commission, which that already covers ocmplexity and there wouldnt be raises on the price. unless you wanted 3 or more characters.

im scared that most of the people who want to commission me will turn away when they see the new price, what do you think?

directing myself specifically to the people who sent me notes and mails, hoping to commission me

I would pay for a $50 2 character from you as easily as I would pay $30. You're worth the money!

i'd say go with 40 for right now, see how that works out, and if you are still getting the same amount of attention, try raising it from there.

You can go in the middle with $45. I think your skill level and talent is worth more than $30

I was hoping to commision you and i can say, 2 char plus some complexity and detail is worth 50. Your art is beautifull and yummy, and even if it jumped that $20 gap. im sure that there maybe a few that would be riled up , but wouldn't hurt you overall. You still will have a loving base of support thats going to understand and be willing to pay that kinda price. Not to mention that you can always go down later, but as a talented artists like yourself. You deserve to be fairly compensated for your skill, and you are rather skilled.

Yeah, 30 is way too low for your skill level. I'd say go for at least 50, but 40 is cool too.

(Seriously though if I manage to grab a slot from you I'm giving you 50 even if you try to charge me 40 lol)

honestly I think 45usd would be good for max 2 characters, and then it goes up for every extra character (this is if you cant decide on 40 or 50)

you're entirely worth it, and even though i have a low paying job i'd still save up to commission you even at 50usd

From a USD standpoint your art is pretty cheap, I still think 40 for two characters is severely undercharging yourself. I always expect your stuff to hover closer to the 60 range for 2 characters (30 for character is a good deal tbh). You have such a steady commission base that I think you could charge yourself at a FAIR rate and people would still love to get commissions from you.

I'm perfectly fine with 50 for one character. That's what i expected when i saw you were open. I was surprised when I saw 30.

I was gonna commission you and I agree that a bump to 40-50 is more than fair, especially with all the work an artist has to do. Go for the increase!

yee, 50 is good, but i'll leave it at 45, 50 will be fore hyper commissions,cuz those sure are a strain to complete, very complicated stuff

Yeah, two-character colors? 40-50 sounds about right. I mean, don't apply this retroactively to commissions you've agreed to take but haven't started working on, that's a huge dick move, but raising your price is fair. How long does it take you to do a piece, start to finish?

oh I had no commissions in the work, so this price change will only apply to future commissioners. i'll make sure to reply to most mails and notes tonight and tell them about the new price range. and i do all comms on stream, the 5 comms i do daily take 8-10 hours from start to finish, all 5

i was always wondering why you charged so little! i'd say you could EASILY charge 40 or 45 USD, even then i think it's somewhat cheap for someone of your skill level and popularity.

IMO, $40-45 seems a little strong to me. But, you're well within you're rights to charge what you want.
