Not bad! I learned some more about your technique in this one that I didn't in the first version. I still could never do it like this; it would feel to me like too much was set in stone, like when the layers on the same depth plane are merged. I couldn't deal with that, because I need to be able to adjust everything as the process goes along. But that's just because I'm less methodical than you are; my method is a little more free form.

You mentioned a depth map; is that what a depth map is? I thought a depth map was one of those grayscale versions of an image, where the whiter parts indicate foreground depth and the blacker parts indicates background depth. But I'm not sure.

Usually yes, but in my understanding depthmap is literally "a map of depth", which shows what's closer and what's farther. So this also counts as depthmap IMO. And besides, if you just fill each layer with all shades of grey you need (around 50 shades in this case), you will get a legit depthmap. That's what I did in my first video to make the depthmap I showed in the end.

Also about setting everything in stone. I think no one could handle doing it without merging the layers together, there's just too many layers otherwise. So that's the disadvantage of this technique. However, I don't mind it at all, I can easily fix any mistakes I made. Maybe I'll make a short video showing how to fix everything if you messed up with your depthmap.
