I'm not at AC either. the long trip from overseas is one of the reasons... ^^

I started the fandom thing with eurofurence $ back in '98. so far I have missed out on a couple ones, mostly because of lack of funds. this year? it filled up so fast it was insane! one hour, and all places were taken... and since there was no way to sleep elsewhere for me I made up my mind. so no EF this year for me.

and I find out more and more people I been dying to meet are going there AND I CAN NOT ATTEND!

I think the closest con to Toronto is in Montreal, but there are a good few furmeets down in southern Ontario I believe. I just know that none of them were ever close enough to me up in Thunder Bay :C
