Donations for upcoming adoptables?

Hey, so I wanted to post about a huge obstacle I'm facing in regards to getting the funds I need for my emergency I posted about a few days ago: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8133427/
So I've been mainly spending the majority of my time this week going from place to place for apartments and looking for a complex that will approve me despite my janked up credit. I found out I owe on the apartment I left in Texas without notice (or maybe they tried to send mail and it got lost?), and I'm in collections until that's paid off. (Found this out via a background/credit check when I was applying for a place that could have moved me in this weekend if I was approved...smfh) Luckily in that situation I wasn't evicted, and that's the one thing that will keep me from renting period around here. However, lots of places also don't want you owing expenses to a previous rental whether you were evicted or not. So my best bet so far has been finding folks who will allow me to rent with a hefty security deposit and verifiable income despite the collections I owe. I've found a few but the costs are totaling up to around $1600-$2000.
It's a steep amount, but it's not impossible to get if I stick to my current schedule of getting adopts done daily like I've been doing, I should be able to get this. But the obstacle I'm running into is with the monthly release amount on Paypal. Thanks to my recent adopts, I'm already well over this limit, and a good chunk of that is being held up already. I called Paypal about this to see if that limit could be raised or if there was a way I could get access to the held funds quicker due to my emergency I explained to them. The best they could do for me was mark the transactions as processed and they'll be released by the end of the month. However uh, anything else that comes through will be held. It's really got me freaking out!!! because I have such little time to get these funds and if they're gonna be held up? What's... the point????
I was told I could still get funds to my account if they're sent as friends/family BUT that is dangerous, which I exclaimed to the phone rep because I don't want my account getting flagged for a bunch of those types of transactions. So far it seems the best way to go about it is if I get adopt payments sent to a couple of friends of mine, and they can send a lump sum as friends/family. Or pay a square invoice.
BUT it kind of hit me that maybe? If people don't mind who are going to be purchasing adopts for this emergency of mine, that the payments could be sent in the form of a donation if set up a donation link..? Because basically anything marked as goods/services at this point is going to be withheld for several days and I can't afford to have those funds held up at a time like this..
So I wanted to get some feedback or an opinion about that, just to see if any of you would be comfortable with that! Let me know what you think or if you have any other suggestions. Because right now it's looking like either Square or having people send funds to my friends seems like my only option at this time with the release limit being met.

Its in $3 increments and they can choose how many.
I adore your art, and as soon as I get my own situation resolved I would love to help out. I've been in a similar situation and its a huge pain in the booty. I'm very sorry you have to deal with it now <3
Thank you!
I will keep watch for some bases, sometimes its nice just to relax and mindless color things <3

If I had say, another month to take care of that negative balance, then I would be running into this problem because I'd just pay it off. But due to the time crunch, I had to make other arrangements. However I may ask how she feels about the upgrade, she should be ok with it as along as I only accept funds for adopts through there and nothing more.
Good luck!
Good luck though and hope it all works out.
