Marvel says that diversity may have alienated readers
8 years ago
Those pandering, over-rated hypocrites! They're trying to blame this on us? Marvel's books are declining because "people didn't want female, LGBT or diverse characters"? UP YOURS MARVEL! There are plenty of reasons why comic books sales are down and it's not because MARVEL thinks that people don't want diversity. Sometimes sales go down due to poor writing, character derailment, jumping on bandwagons, canceling books like the Fantastic Four (maybe because it's not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and constant event comics that lead towards more event comics. You know what makes this complaint even more pointless, Marvel had more diversity than DC during the 70's. Speaking of which, I may be a DC fan, but even I have stopped buying DC comics because the new 52 has alienated and confused long time readers. The reason why I stopped buying Marvel comics wasn't because they introduced a female Thor or making Falcon the new Captain America or even turning Steve Rogers into a Hydra Nazi. No no no, I stopped buying Marvel comics because I was so tired of those heroes acting like jerks while getting into "hero vs. hero" fights because that's how things work nowadays.

You piss off old fans and you gain no new ones except more demands from that loud minority.
