Im so sad to hear this, I have been wanting to go to this con for years and I was gonna attend next year with my friend.

Same here. I was hoping to come to RMFC because of the great things I heard about it. Oh well.

I am...seriously bummed. I was so excited to be going this year, and even considered getting a table at the artists alley. Clearly it wont be happening now, since it seems like RMFC wont be going anymore...

I've been m.i.a in the fandom from 2013 to now and I'm surprised with how much it's changed. Quite a few of the people I've known are gone, so many have left FA and seem to be scattered on various sites.

Now, there's always been drama and that's not going to go away any time soon but to get to the point of cons closing. I've never been to RMFC so I can't really say too much on that, RF I'm very sad to see go. I only attended one year but it was of the best I've attended.

What were the other cons that shut down?

FurFright, FCN. Just to name a couple.

furfright turned into furpocalypse, same con different name just like fcn turned into mcfc. we can't lose anymore cons.

I'm in a similar situation. For various reasons, I haven't been very active in the fandom since 2013, and so many people have moved on. People I follow on FA no longer post, people I knew locally are doing different things; they have all gone someplace else, and they're replaced by strangers.

Pretty much. I know some went to Weasyl, Tumblr and Paetron. I was never into making multiple accounts on different sites since it can be time consuming to manage.

I wound up moving cross country so while some in my home town are still active and I talk to them from time to time, the furry scene in my new location is kind of scarce.

That's a bummer...Sorry to hear, sounded like a great con. I've been wanting to go to different cons when I have the free time. Well lets hope no more closes.
