I've only ever had an older model Cintiq 12wx, and bought it used for $350 from a friend. They seem to be pretty easy to find on craigslist and such for around that price. The only problem I have with it is that the colors are a little off, and I have to move CSP to my main monitor to check colors. It is my first pen display and other than trying to color with it, it has served me well.

Huion I've heard is also worthwhile. After doing bit of research on alternative tablet makers the main problem I see is lack of tech/driver support for some makers compared to Wacom.

I take it you've been using a normal pen tablet (without display) up til now?
