So, an artist I paid money to just up and disappeared...

            What now?
This sort of thing has happened to me before.
Artist opens a YCH or takes on a batch of sketch commissions. I take it, expecting the piece to be done within a reasonable amount of time.
But nope, turns out the artist has a year's worth of backlog to finish up before he/she gets to start on my piece.
I can accept that, if the price is okay, or it was a really nice YCH. Some things are just worth waiting for.
Waiting so long means two things, though. 1, I can't use PayPal muscle to open a dispute and demand a refund after a certain time, and 2 I might just completely forget that I ever even commissioned the artist. And usually that means the artist also forgot. I don't know how most of you artists organize your stuff, but some don't seem to do it at all.
So, this just happened. I commissioned an artist THREE times last year, because she had some real nice YCHs and sketch offers. Payment went through just fine.
As has happened before, I kinda forgot about these commissions after six months or so. Checked through my PayPal transaction history today, and thought "Oh yeah, whatever happened to those commissions? Better check it out."
In the past, I've given the artist a nudge and reminded them, and they kinda go "Oh shit!" and get right on it, giving me what I paid for. Which is just fair.
But I got on FA to check on this case and it turns out the artist has frozen/suspended/deleted/whatevered her FA account. And whatever other community she uses the same name on seems inactive as well.
So... WTF?

Randomly found your account, but, generally check artists beware first if you think they've a habit of this. (On that note, make an account and bring it up there, that way they can't get away with doing this again under a different name without getting it resolved first.)
