AC: Great until my camera got stolen.
It was great. I met so many people, and had so much fun.
But now, I can't remember any of it. My camera was lost in its final moments at the Pittsburgh Airport.

I had recorded video for much of my con time. As most of you know, conventions are hectic. It's hard to remember anything. Many con reports are vague.
A friend of mine, before the con, had convinced me to take pictures. I was so emphatic for her opinion, that I went out and bought a new camera, even though I"d be poor. I wanted to take pictures for her too-- even though I don't like most fursuits.
I kept taking more pictures and video and had a great time. While at the Airport, ready to leave, I was proud of the great time I had. I reviewed all the pictures and video I had taken. I had at least 4GB of stuff-- not much, but it's a great load.
After showing pictures to a fur named Zentra, I walked to the ticket counter, got my bag checked and took my carryon to the escalator. I don't remember having my camera after that until one more time. I wanted to take a picture and video of
Wulven (not sure if it's the same).
That's when I noticed I didn't have my camera.
It's quite possible that it went MIA in between when
khranok and I went through the security check (he was before me).. but I don't think I had it on me then.
Khranok says he thought I did, but he's just as fuzzy as I am :/ (It's not his camera, anyways!)
I ran around like crazy for an hour, asking if the security had found it, getting re-passed through security, asking the ticket counters if they had seen it, asking lost and found...
They say that pickpocketers are very few and far in between. I just can't conceive that my camera was just dropped by me and never brought to security.
IF YOU SEE ANY FUR CARRYING A MODEL OF MY CAMERA, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I KNOW A FEW IDENTIFYING FEATURES THAT SHOULD HELP YOU VERIFY IT'S MINE.
(I say fur 'cause I think there're better cameras going through airport security every day, and a normal pickpocketer may go for my wallet. :/ )

At this point, it's not about the camera. It's about all the kind people I met and want to remember.. It's about the promise I owed to my friend. It's about the time I shared with you, and I want to easily recollect it all.
Please keep me in mind.
It's sad that my last memory of AC is of my camera being stolen. I am truly fighting this depression over the loss of my pictures. Major thanks to people like Zippiner, Skitzocat, Kiba, Wulven, and Watcher (Even KoalaKitty, too). I needed people to tell about my BS and they truly sympathized.
I don't want to think of this as the 'worst AC ever' just because of how it ended, but it's looking this way. In many ways, it was the best-- and now I have little concrete evidence to help me remember it.
If I'm lucky, I may see those pictures and video again. I don't care about the camera anymore.
PS: Tomorrow is my birthday. 8| Bad timing, me.

also, freaking suck, babe, i'm sorry... ....... guess you gotta go again next year and have even mroe fun >.>
At least it wasn't a laptop that got stolen. That's what happened to me last Tuesday in a university library. I go 6 feet away for 5 minutes, and my backpack's GONE. Sure, they found the pack 2 hours later, BUT WITHOUT THE COMPUTER OR POWER CORD.
At least you have some sporadic memories about a greatly enjoyable trip. Me, I got none of that!
I swear, security is too frigging lax. What are guards paid for, anyway? Not just to cut into profits and to take bribes from crooks, I should hope!
In anycase, it was really cool to meet you finally. Chin up dude! *headperch*
I wonder if anyone got some good footage of some of my personal favorite moments there. Whose Lion is it Anyways... Spazfox and Jibba... the stuff that happened AFTER the 2 gryphon and uncle kage charity show had ended. Good times.
I know what that can be like. When I was in New York my old camera was stolen as well.
But I am glad to see that you are home safe.
We totally need to chat next time you are free online.
Hopefully you made lotsa friends, It was wonderful to meet you dear i'm just sorry it ended like that! :(

It was obviously stolen, or picked up from the ground and never returned. The problem is, where. :/
If you need ANYTHING from me, just let me know.
I had one after AC2004, it was pouring down rain, and I procrastinated leaving the hotel till almost 5pm. By the time I arrived in NYC, a bunch of things had happened, that if any one of them had not occurred, I might not have walked off the train without my backpack, which contained 2 laptops, a digital camera, a solid-state camcorder, and all the memory cards for all the photos I had took up to that point, including stuff I had taken long before the con (like scenes of the Financial District of NYC during the big blackout). I was so out of it that I was halfway through my subway trip when I realized I didn't have the backpack.
Went back to the station, contacted customer service (the train was going through to West Springfield, MA) and filed a police report. Nothing came of it. Luckily there was no exploitable information on either machine, but I would have gladly given both of them up for the photos on those memory cards. Years later I bought an exact duplicate of one of the lost laptops, not because I needed it (it was running Windows Me of all things) but for some sort of closure.
Had I caught a train that was terminating in NYC, had it not rained, had I picked a passenger car that had working outlets, had I not run down the laptop's battery dinking around with train sims in the Zoo away from an outlet while waiting for the rain to let up...any number of things happening different, and I wouldn't have had this story. Must be why I'm fascinated by disaster investigations, and the chain-reaction events that precede them.
Thanks for your sympathy, dude. I may have some good news to post tonight.
