Question about PWYW

How do you feel when artists do PWYWs? (Pay What You Want)
Personally I tend to steer clear of them because I'm always worried that like... what if I think 20 dollars is reasonable, and they're sitting here like 'man I really thought I deserved at LEAST 30'... and whether or not they do think that, I still talk myself into some terrible worry.
What if I want art from them and I accidentally underpay?
What if I want art from them and I underpay because I don't have the money to pay them what I feel they should be paid?
What if they start underselling themselves because I don't pay a good amount??
WHAT IF I OFFEND THEM AND NOW THEY HATE ME FOREVER?
SHOULD I TIP FOR A PWYW?
AAAA
Irrational worries I know, but lordy they still get me every time so it's just like NAH I'LL JUST WAIT TILL YOU'RE OPEN with set prices.
So.... anyone else have these same anxieties? Anyone really love PWYWs? Whats y'alls side of the story?
(Note: This is not me in any way saying 'Don't do PWYWs DB<!!!', just voicing my willies and seeing what everyone else feels... maybe to either see if I'm not alone, or get my willies eased >:B;)

It's nice when the people that do pwyw set a minimum price
I also agree with the minimum price thing. I've usually seen it at $5-10, and you usually get a headshot.
I give people my range and the more they pay, the more finished something will be. 20 bucks could get you a finished chibi ( flat-colired+lines) or a sketched fullbody ( with or without flatcolor cause unless the colors are complicated I usually don't charge extra for color.)
I also offer "upgrades" - ie someone can buy a sketch and later upgrade the sketch to color/clean lines/shaded/etc for the difference. As long as they don't want a new sketch / as long as its within six months of the sketch being purchased. Since I don't actually delete anything ever.
the way I get around people feeling like they're lowballing or actually lowballing is to set a minimum
they're super cheap, I think I set $10 for headshots and $15 for chibis? people do often tip, and sometimes
I move away from first come first served and take the highest offer per slot!
