So I surprised myself the other day when I realized I was genuinely interested in Left 4 Dead 2, the upcoming sequel to everybody's favourite zombie shooty co-op thing. I had two major reasons for not picking up the first one, the first being that my computer wasn't strong enough for it and Valve had already proved that they don't care about the 360 crowd by not bringing their Team Fortress 2 improvements to the Xbox version of The Orange Box. This issue has since been removed since I now have a much more powerful computer. (I have named her Angelica. u_u) The other reason, though...
Well, it's really three lesser issues that combine, Voltron-style, into one understandable problem.
a) The game is entirely dependant upon non-local co-op.
b) I don't really know anybody who's into the online gaming scene, so I would be heavily reliant on random matchups.
c) Experience in this area (Mainly from Halo 3) has taught me that an awful lot of people who are into online gaming are complete and utter shitheads.
Here's the thing: since then, I've noticed that a hell of a lot of people here on FA are big, big fans of L4D, judging by the fact that Zoey/Witch porn exists. (TF2 is even more mad popular. I wonder what the connection is between Valve and furries...) It's possible that if I did get Left 4 Dead 2, there would be a large group of vague Internet acquaintances for me to play with.
And hey, I never got the first one, so I don't feel betrayed that they're releasing a sequel like a year later! :D
So I'm curious, do any of you have experience fighting the zombie hordes? Is there some kind of furry clan? Are random match-ups more or less likely to include griefers? And most importantly, is anyone even reading this? ;>_>
The game doesn't come out until November, so I've got a while to think it over, and by that time I'll probably have Halo: ODST/Brutal Legend/both anyway, so I won't be lacking for gaming fun if I decide to pass on L4D2.
ZOMBIE MUSING OVER.
