the cowboy novels that inspired hitler
so apparently people really do not understand how much inspiration for his atrocities (and how to actually carry them out) hitler drew from the genocide of native nations here in the americas. it's not even a disputed idea; it's settled fact and well acknowledged. this information isn't anything controversial or new. by fighting this, you just look like a historically ignorant racism apologist and genocide denier. so maybe cut that shit out, eh?

Many of these people who object to the death penalty for religious/moral reasons are also the same people who see no problem in bombing or invading foreign nations using those very same religious/moral reasons.
Any manner of atrocity can be (and has been) committed if one deludes themselves into believing it is somehow 'gods will' to do so. Crazy is as crazy does.
I've always seen, and wished, the prison system to be less about "housing freaks" and more trying to rehabilitate people. People don't kill others for shits and giggles, there's always something wrong thats happened and caused something in them to be damaged, usually emotionally. If prison concentrated more on counseling and more on rehabilitation and looking after those in it RATHER than housing and punishment, I believe that would be a better system.
Of course it would have to be coupled with housing and work opportunities outside of prison. When you get locked up for being a drug dealer, even if you completely change your tune in prison, when you leave its hard to get a job, you can't afford any housing and the only people you know are druggos. That makes it really hard to do anything but go back to dealing drugs.
I'm not trying to argue with you. The idea of people perhaps being too expensive to try and help or house is not a "wrong" idea. I find it an interesting view to take into account, and i hope perhaps mine will be too.
Its probably a question with no good answer.
