Planning a trip to Asia, any tips welcome

We are open to any country, any mean, be it cruise, or a tour within one or several countries.
We would mainly like to know if any of you who lives there or has been there would recommend some stuff to do or see.
We are big fans of sight seeings, mountains, lakes, just as much as beaches, but we also love to see cultural things, food and temples, etc.

NO idea if there are regular tourist expiditions to it, but the photos are unbelievable.
Oh, and good food too.
