A weird and disturbing dream..(help?)

Now you see me...
Well it may not be bad to you but the whole atmosphere of it was just disturbing..
It was kinda like a movie.. basically there were a bunch of people ice fishing on a lake or something and there was one family that was of main focus. I believe there was a dad but I'm not sure.. I think he may have dissappeared later on.. other than him there was a mother and a little boy.
They were just fisihing until the ice started making some weird noise..like cracking and the little boy started freaking out as the mom started to slowly get on her hands and knees. The ice cracked and she started sinking in. The ice started cracking around the boy as he was shouting at his mom in sobs of panic,"Don't let me die mommy! Don't let me die!" or something of that nature..so his mother floated on her back and took ahold of her child on top of her..
Then it kinda faded to black and then faded back in to another scene where you could kinda see half under water and they hit soil. I think they kid climbed onto the land and his mother was barely breathing..or something.. it basically ended like that..
Ok..I have no freakin clue why I dreamt this and remembered it.. I have no clue if something like this happened or if it means something symbolically. Well I mean obviously the whole thing was about self sacrifice..and maybe a mothers love for her child but it just makes me wonder what happened..
It kinda reminds me of this other dream I had where I guess a wounded wolf was making his way back home to his mates and pups and when they saw him the pups were excited and his mate just greeted him warmly.. he went to like a half frozen creek and he collapsed by the side to get a drink while blood was kinda dripping into the water..
I dunno sorry that isn't really the same thing but like the whole snow and ice and..huh i dunno.. But I'd like to hear any thoughts from you guys

"I do not believe it has to do with a fear of an object as previously suggested by QuietOwl, though it may be dealing with a fear of unknown, or seperation (as demonstrated by seperating ice, and seperation from parent). Also,it could be dealing with a choice. Save yourself, and leave others behind? or help the ones you love? this may be a possible scenario your mind is creating and there may be more similar but with a different ending to come, if they havent already (which you may not remember.

overall, i restate what my original opinion was and would like to add that you may be seeing yourself. Your masculinity, femininity, and inner child. The dream is saying that there is a clash with yourself inside, that there will be a major tragedy within, but in the end will be resolved and leave you whole
