So, it went like this!
Beav: Hello, I'm an account holder with UFJ? I'd like to know how I should arrange for an electronic funds tranfser?
UFJ: Ah, sorry sir, but this is a corporate office and...
Beav: Yeah, I know, but your website doesn't have a customer service number up. And I just wanted to know if you guys have any branches in canada, or if I can arrange for that kinda thing by phone or mail?
UFJ: Ah, no sir, we don't have any branches inside of Canada that can help you. We do have a branch in New York?
Beav: Ah, well *LAUGH* That's not that convenient.
UFJ: *ALSO LAUGH*
BEAV: So, if I wanted to make an electronic funds transfer, how should I...?
UFJ: Ah, I'm sorry sir, but you must make a fund transfer from your branch inside of Japan.
Beav: ....
UFJ: ....

UFJ: ....
Beav: *cries softly* mah money
FA+

don't give up hope yet. it's your money and it's unlawful for them to keep it from you.
if it has to come to a wire transfer, that's what it comes down to.
I mean, fuuuuuuuuuuck
that's wrong O.o
Good luck getting at your monies man
How will I get some cool gadgets from them?!?!??!
and their hilariously funny horror movies!?!?!?!?!?!
How long you been back in Canada?
Alternatively, I'm seeing if I can set up an account with GoLLoyds or PayPal in order to just transfer my money that way, but it's slow goings. Either too much Japanese, or too much... just being a douchey corporation in general.
Population: YOU!
isn't there any way you can give a friend or family member permission to access your account, and have them send you the money that way?
*huggz* i know how you feel. when i went to japan, i got the same deal from my bank back in the states.
Well, I guess WORST case scenario, I buy a ticket and go back to Japan just to get my pay. Will give me a chance to snag my apartment deposit from my former roomie while I'm at it! Two birds, one very expensive stone!
