I'm scared.
Tell me some stories even if theyre bad.
Did you get knocked out or were you awake ?
(Im probably gonna want to be asleep during the surgery so those experoences would be the most helpful)
;3;
I was completely knocked out for mine as mine hadn't even started to erupt as they were heading toward the front of my mouth, laying horizontal. Was awake one moment, the next I was waking up, slightly panicked as my drug hazed mind was flipping at the fact I couldn't feel my tongue. My whole mouth was numbed. Nothing traumatic, I woke up a little hazy as expected, took me about 10-20mins to fully become coherent and make sense. I did throw up once after waking up from nausea and some old blood in my stomach from the tooth removal..ate some custard and drank some juice and then went home later that afternoon. Healing process was what ached the most, was given antibiotics and some pain killers, ice chips are your best friend and super soft easily swallow-able foods. :)
Nope, they removed the teeth that were partially in and out of the bone, if I still had my X-rays floating around I'd show you. My bottom ones were laying flat on their sides pushing forward into my other molars.
After everything was removed I had some dissolvable stitches in place to keep the hole a bit more closed but there was still a notiable hole. Lots of soft foods, sipping water (noo straws!) and gentle mouth washing after eating (I pretty much had it sit in my mouth and shook my head rather than the usual way for the first few days/week to avoid the clots dislodging and causing dry socket)
I didn't have my wisdom teeth removed, per se, but I did have teeth removed to accommodate braces and made room for wisdom teeth. Anyway, as they were putting me under, I remember them rubbing alcohol on my forearm so they can stick the IV in, but then they stuck it between my knuckles instead. I was told later that I complained when the IV was in my forearm and they had to move it. They probably also had difficulty finding a vein, if it was anything like when I had my blood drawn more recently.
I got knocked out to have all four of mine removed as they were almost laying on their sides and had barely erupted. I was coherent enough to take a video selfie with my old cellphone within a few minutes of waking up and had a milkshake and fries at McDonalds on the way home.
