I would have gone to see the movie in either case but Rocket is why I will go and see it a few more times in theater. 83

I seen the movie and i liked it ^-^ friend of mine said there was to much humor but i thought it was fine =3

I do hate that people try to compare this with the first movie, since I'd say it differs from that one like Empire did with Star Wars. Same characters and world, different approach to the narrative. Great character development and loads of fun. And damn, did Michael Rooker hit it out of the park or not?

Rooker was great. His Interaction with absolutely everyone was perfect and several of his scenes with Rocket brought tears to my eyes.

I especially loved Groot's scene in the credits.And you really had to feel kinda bad for Rocket towards the end of the movie with how things turned out and such.

I saw that. And he certainly seemed to love it.And if anyone tries to ruin it for him, I have a feeling he is gonna open an unholy can of whoop ass on em.

People keep comparing it to the first movie, but I can't help but feel a lot of it is expectations. Folks didn't know what to expect from Guardians of the Galaxy, but with the second, there was a general idea. I can't help but recall Portal 2, which had the same issue. It was more of the same, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Yet at the same time, I felt the characterization was stronger in 2. Don't know if I'd say it was better overall, but it's still a great movie.

There's nothing wrong with liking one movie over the other, but as I've said elsewhere, this movie is a continuation of the first, not a competition to it. Just go in and have a fun time. That's what the movie is for.

Now, having said that, I did love this movie. The character interactions were wonderfully portrayed and the humor beautifully balanced the deeper emotions being explored. Everyone played off of each other quite believably and yes, there were some moments that brought a tear to my eye, especially with Rocket. They delved into his character so beautifully here, and really made you feel for him.

Baby Groot was as expected, super adorable, and was a genius move on the part of the studio. I loved that he was not merely cute for cuteness sake, like you find in many anime, but that it fit the character and the story, with him having a crucial role with the lives of the others.

So yes, I too recommend that anyone who liked the first movie, go out and see this one.

This one had way more character development than the first. The first had that Lightning in a Bottle effect of coming out of left field and knocking it out of the park. This one can't do that, so instead it goes for focusing on the characters and fleshing them out. I feel like people are going to pick favorites based on which they value more; that expectations vs results or the character development.

Also the Rocket animations were top notch in this. The way he moves in the forest scene might be the best anthro motions I've seen in a movie. Also was this the first Marvel movie to feature an interesting villain since Loki?

People are saying this is indeed the best Marvel villain since Loki. That's not a high bar to clear but Kurt Russell was great in this. Michael Rooker, especially, was amazing. His interactions with everyone were perfect.

I never in a million years ever thought I'd see Marvel put that guy in a movie. Not after Fox turned Galactus into a cloud. I can't express how pleased I am that they didn't perform a similar cop-out despite how weird the character was.

If the Thor: Ragnarok trailer is any indication Marvel is taking a cue from the Guardian's success and decided that colorful, weird comic book movies can work. I think studios were afraid of making goofy, fun super hero movies because of Batman.

Pffft. DC is going the dark and gritty Batman route and are getting widely panned for it, Marvel is getting crazier and more colorful and they're making serious bank. People are as hyped with minor reservations for Homecoming as they are dubious with a small ray of hope for Wonder Woman.

trailer hadn't sold me, but I'll probably see it because I liked the first one.

He actually runs on all fours twice and climbs Groot on all fours in the first movie, but the forest scene in this one makes it clear he's perfectly comfortable running around in feral mode.

I cant wait for the DVD/blu ray to come out so I can see all the gifs of him running and jumping about on all fours. That scene was my fave.

Great movie all round.
