Something I didn't expect

So I was bored, and I realized that I'd never played the game "Sniper Elite: V2", even though I had it in my steam list since it was given out for free for a day. So I decided to play it, and beat it on the hardest difficulty in a few hours over its short campaign. However, through this, something happened to me that video games don't normally do; I actually felt like I was doing something 'wrong', morally wrong.
In this game about sniping, you're able to incapacitate targets rather than killing them outright, so you can lure their friends out to try to rescue them, like those scenes in "Saving Pvt. Rian" and "Full Metal Jacket". I ended up using this tactic a lot, purposely making soldiers lure their friends to their death by only asking for some much needed help. Though I often play things like "Grand Theft Auto" and the like, this is just something that actually bothered me a little bit. Not that I want the game changed in any way, but just thought it was weird that out of all the stuff games let me do, that was the thing that got to me.

Not a single one of those that helped bothered to ask "Who shot you and how?" It would have saved a lot of trouble.

Exactly, hadn't thought of that though.

It's probably the simple fact that those men have a strong bond. One that ties them together tighter than blood. And you're using it as a weapon against them. Something about a friend getting killed whilst trying to help a wounded friend that hits really hard.

Yeah, I think that's it.
