I'm terrible when it comes to anything horror related...just isn't a very fun type of tension for me and i couldn't even play the early Bioshock games for example because they just were too horror-esque...

Yeah that sounds like a bit of a shitty thing to do from them. On the one hand i can understand possibly not wanting to deal with the hardship in other people's life if you got stuff to deal with on your own and all that, but there are nicer ways to do that than just unfriending someone. But then again, i agree, social media contact usually are a lot less strung together, which is also why i don't even bother with Facebook. Like the friends i talk to i've got in some chat program, telegram, skype, steam, whatever, and i don't feel like i really need facebook as a "Hey look that picture i took" type of tool for people that i know but don't know well enough to want to talk to regularly, if that makes sense.

i do wish you good luck with the garage sale though! Both that you will be able to manage it and that it'll end up being a well sold out thing. Never really did one i gotta say, just been to a few flea markets when i was younger because we could grab cheap toys that way! :D

As for me, nothing really, been a quiet week, took a bit longer on a picture that i would have liked and didn't manage to figure out how to open a server in one game i wanted to play with a friend, but that was really all the excitement i had this week and i wouldn't say they're really worth getting worked up over. But that's fine by me as well, i'd rather take "boring" over tumultuous with stuff exploding left and right every day.

Deployed a firewall last night. Guys who provided me the details for the config I spent ten hours building and verifying gave me all old or wrong information for all of their 20 something vpn tunnels. Worked an additional three hours after hours to get it all corrected.

Plus side are that I did find a pretty awesome telegram group for roleplay earlier this week, and I was able to spin up my home private branch exchange.

Oh dear, hmmm, well at least you got it all worked out i suppose, that's something. :) And the plus sides don't sound to bad either, not a perfect week but still sounds pretty decent overall!

yeah the whole time where you have to try and decide on a carreer path can be pretty daunting. At least there are always ways to change later on even if it's not quite that easy. But then i suppose nothing ever really is...And sim golf? Never even heard of that i have to say!

Is it just basically a golf game? Or like where you build a golf course or something? Not even sure what to imagine there!

And yeah, really not much for me this week, took longer for a picture than i hope i would and didn't manage to get into a co-op game with my friend which really bummed me out, neither really something to get mad over though, so it's been a kind of neutral week all around.

Huh that sounds kinda interesting actually. Though with it being abandonware it'll probably never get to it. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to that, i want stuff to just work ideally. So it would be great if it appears on GOG at some point through some magic.

And yeah, it's some finnicky port situation. Need to unblock some ports which we did, but still doesn't work. But, whatever, we just go onto other's server now and get murdered by people who played much more than we :D

Heard about tons of construction in Kentucky, so I didn't go I-75 like I normally would. Went east and took I-77, through the Carolinas and Virginias. Even though it poured buckets while in the mountains, the Carolinas countryside and Virginia mountains are beautiful! Drive took me 19 hours almost on the dot.

Ah i can imagine! driving through the mountainside is always a pleasure!

This is a pretty neat journal. I'm sure it will brighten some people up and also seems to help lift some weight of off people's shoulders. Sometimes all you need to do to feel better is to say what's on your mind to someone else.

I my self have had a week and a day of mixed feelings. Receiving incredibly good news and a funeral at the same day (yesterday) and today I and my husband received more good news!

The bank has agreed to give us a loan for a house that we recently won the bidding on so hopefully soon (sometime this summer) we will live together again afer almost 1,5 years apart. (Now we only need to go through all the paperwork that comes with the purchase of a house and a big loan)

I'm sorry to hear about that, but hey it's always nice to have positives alongside the negatives in my opinion. This house, or rather the area in witch the house is, is quite secluded but there are quite a few neighbours. Though most of them are eldely so it should be pretty quiet and calm.

I got back from a vacation to Disney World a couple days ago! I went with my boyfriend's family, which was a little tense, because his sister is pregnant and really high strung right now, but we had a good time (especially when my boy and I got to go off and enjoy the parks on our own :P). I've always been a sucker for Disney stuff and it was good to be surrounded by it again when I'm otherwise usually surrounded by illness, injury, and death at work.

Of course, though, yesterday was the last day of my time off and I was called into work, even though I'm not on call, which was a bummer. And I was working fast track in the ambulance bay, which is where triage sends patients they think they can get in and out quickly. You can only see so many teens with allergies before it starts to wear on you. But lo! Excitement came my way! A 13 year old fell off a bike and bashed his head on the ground while not wearing a helmet. I'm not certain why EMS and triage thought this would be a quick patient, so I'm glad I was working. The injury happened several hours before he came in, but he kept vomiting every 45 mins or so and couldn't remember anything surrounding the fall. Also, he kept providing different histories, which is a huge red flag. Then, during his actual physical exam, I palpated a tiny osseous deformity on his skull and he went right to CT, where they found an epidural hematoma and a skull fracture. Unfortunately, that's kind of where my involvement ended, because we needed to transfer him to our partner hospital, where they have a level 1 pediatric trauma center and pediatric neurosurgeon. But! The excitement was fun while it lasted and I'm glad I was there to give him the care he needed. And now I'm waking up!

Oh! Disney World sounds like a fun time! Good that you managed to enjoy it as well, but i guess it's also difficult to not make disneyworld at least somewhat enjoyable :D

And huh, that sounds like that kid got pretty lucky.I'm by no means a doctor but since i follow Formula 1 i at least had some sort of upfront experience with how bad head injuries can get since the sport had two fairly major incidents in the past few years. With Jules Bianchi dying after 8 months in a coma after a crash and apparently a Diffuse axonal injury sustained from it. And then Michael Schumacher, who is the most sucessful driver in the sport having what was reported to be a relatively calm skiing accident back in december '13, which resulted in him possibly being partially paralyzed (details are slim as the family wants to stay in private)

Weeks been pretty slow so far. Most of my stuff happens friday/saturday. Got to build a deck for the in-laws and tend to the horses. Suppose the most interesting thing this week is nursing a finger that got chomped into by a loving German Shepard (tried to give him a piece of steak, instead of giving it to him in his bowl I decided to l oh so wisely hand feed him, love that dog)

Haha, he just was so happy that he couldn't quite contain himself! Hopefully he didn't dig in all too deep but G-Sheps are a pretty strong bunch so i'm guessing that might not be the case.

I was lucky in that he only got the tips of my fingers. No permenant damage thankfully, just a stiff reminder that those teeth are dull but can easily make a hole in you lol. We don't think he even noticed, especially since we didn't let on that he had got me, and yeah he was pretty excited :D

Mentally exhausting, but not Bad, good news (ish) from the doctors, waiting on a response from the vet but no real problems for the pigeon either. Lots of work done at work, the JP is repainted, its trailer is getting there and even the Sea Hawk is starting to look less like a rusty piece of scrap and more like an aeroplane. Friend is getting something printed for me (finally!--they've been fine, I'm slow XD) and I have a new painting that's going well.
So all in all, pretty good, but looking forward to getting some sleep.
Also had the shadow of the 146 pass over me driving home yesterday and got a great view of it as it passed over the road! Made my day tbh.

Ah not full time alas, I'm trying to get back there. I was trained as an aircraft mechanic but couldn't get a position =\ and fell out of that "fresh out of school" area, so now I'm volunteering at a restoration/museum and doing a bit of work at a local small airfield on the aircraft they maintain, trying to get my CV relevant again. It's a bit of a slog, but I'll get there eventually. It's 'kind of' full time, I go 4 times a week right now, it's all I can afford in fuel.
No more hours, just... doing what I can when I can. I don't have days off now, just days where I work on art and days were I work at the airfield/museum TTwTT

Ah i see! Yeah it always looked a bit strange to me being such a small plane with 4 engines. You'd think that's not really worth it but haven't really looked into it all that much, so who knows, they probably have a reason for it.
The sort of part time makes sense though! Still certainly more than my slow ass gets done :D

It was for fairly short runways, if memory serves, it can take off from comparatively short (for its size) airports. It's probably not so much of a Thing that's needed now, with aeroplanes getting lighter, but it's still a really popular commercial aircraft so it's obviously not totally obsolete. Sadly I have never flown on one TT_TT I need to find out which routes our local 146 flights take and go on holiday.

Oh yeah, i guess that makes sense, and yeah evidently so! Hopefully you'll find a route that makes sense for you to take. I thankfully was able to check off one of aircrafts from the favourite aircraft list with the Fokker 70 before they're getting phased out entirely throughout this year and the next i believe. Not necessarily a very outstanding plane but i like how it's one of the few commercial airplanes that kinda have a private-jet feel to it which i like about it.

Oh, I... wonder if we had one of those take off from here not so long ago. I wouldn't recognise it to look at, but it sure seems to match what I saw that day. Nice looking aircraft. Glad you got to fly on one ^^

Oh, depends on where you live i assume. The main operator is KLM (for now as they plan to phase them out this year), so mostly used for short trips between the netherlands and the surrounding countries, and there are like just around 20-30 or so in total still in use. Probably been a CRJ-200 or something like that instead. Or maybe the bigger variant Fokker 100, though even that one ,while more popular than the 70 isn't really widely used.

Very possible, I know it wasn't a KLM flight, but then we also get a lot of non-commercial around here. Sadly none of the spotters were around at the time to check with.
