Prepared for the future!
So I got my badges (We Don't Need No Steenkin' Badges!) for AnthrOhio (loosely based on the "Shut up and take my money!" Meme from Futurama) and Fur Reality (blatantly based on Fallout 4's marketing line "Prepared for the future!").
I chose to theme the AO badge after Futurama due to how perfectly it fit with the con's retro-future "Furs of tomorrow!" Theme (hell, I actually planned to sorta-cosplay as Planet Express's own temporally-displaced delivery man, Phillip J Fry way back when the theme was announced over a year ago) though due to not knowing whether I would be attending AO2017 or not, I shelved the idea until everything lined up.
The Fallout theming was picked for FR because that's basically how It was presented when the FR2017 theme "The World After" was announced last October. They played the Inkspots "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire" over a teaser image featuring a ruined cityscape. Could it get any more obvious it's supposed to be Fallout than that? Almost ready for it, too. I've got the Vault Suit costume I bought last year at Spirit Halloween, a gun-belt with many pouches and even a holster for a NERF pistol. All I really need is a Pip-Boy, and that's proving to be a real pain in the ass because most of the replica Pip-Boys from the Fallout 4: Pip-Boy Edition are going for stupid stupid prices on the secondary market. I'd buy one if I could get it for a reasonable price. $100+ isn't even close to reasonable for what amounts to a cell phone case.
