Just by reading the first three paragraphs, it's pretty easy to see: The Amino Acids are like self assembling building blocks throughout the galaxy, so -somewhere- there's gotta be living bacteria or potential higher life :3. I like the idea behind that. Yay article

It appeared to me that in the article the writer suggested that life can form indipendantly from God's intelligent design. Well, if you believe in God then you believe that He created the universe, and if He created the universe then He also created everything in the universe including amino acids. So if God is as smart as we think He is then wouldn't He have designed the amino acids to act in the way that they do?

If you don't believe in God that's fine, I am just pointing out that the writer may have had some unnecessary baggage about the origin of life.

If god is as smart as the evidence in the article suggests then he's not the same god as the one in the bible. Because that one is an idiot :P

But, any-hoo, I don't really subscribe to the idea that the Bible is the end all, be all, perfect document that preachers say it is. Still a good book though, but honestly I don't really think it is hard to see that the Bible isn't absolutely perfect.

Therefor, I do think that the actual God is similar but different than the one described in the Bible.

I could say a LOT more, but I don't want to get off topic and turn this into a big argument that makes people angry.

I remember reading about that when wired posted it, the only problem I have with it is that it seems to claim that the universe is designed to produce amino acids. It's the amino acids which are designed to be produced by the universe, not the other way around. If life wasn't built out of parts which were plentiful and easy to produce then abiogenesis wouldn't have worked.
