I am...still nervous.

This is totally normal for a first timer with the Egyptian Flu.* Its all part of the crazy, scary, terrifying, magical and oh-so-richly-rewarding journey to parenthood. You've got this, listen to your body, it knows the way.

Make sure the sonogram/ultrasound tech knows if you want to know that sex (species? :p ) of your baby in advance; so that they don't accidentally ruin a surprise if you choose to wait until the big day.

I don't want any suprises. I just want to know so we can get the baby room set up properly. That and clothes.

Funny thing that, we did too. And for the same reason. With the nursery painted Wedgwood blue and a good supply of blue onsies.....my wife gave birth to our first daughter. The tech for the first ultrasound was mistaken, or just had a bad angle. A later ultrasound changed our world view. Not that it mattered, we were happy with either. And my daughter, and the daughter that followed, loved that nursery; we never did repaint. Pick a neutral theme and stick with it. Or better yet, pick a fav nursery rhyme from your childhood and paint accordingly.

I'm sure the technology has changed many times in the last 16 years, and for the better, but remember, this whole baby thing is still more art than science. Focus on being the best artist Mom ever, but don't worry about the colour of the paint.
