Once upon a time, there was a really Terrible Woman™ who gave birth to twins boys. She didn't want to keep them, so she gave them up for adoption. One of them was about to be adopted into a really nice family and the Terrible Woman™ changed her mind and kept him. The other went into the system.
So Salem grew up with his birth mother, who treated him like garbage because she didn't really want a kid--and she definitely didn't want a son. At some point she started illegally forcing him to take Estrogen, which really fucked up his hormones and body development. He's a pretty genderfluid guy, though, so it didn't really mess him up in the long-run.
Around age 10-13, the Terrible Woman™ gave Salem up for adoption again, and he was quickly snatched up by a really nice couple only a little over a decade older than him--Victoria and Erik Adler. The Adlers are like. A++ parents. But Salem was super shy at first and had such low self-worth because of the Terrible Woman™ so it took a long while for him to warm up to them. (And even longer for him to cut out the toxic people in his life whooops.)
Age 15/16, Salem told Vicki and Erik that he had a twin brother out there somewhere (he only knew because the Terrible Woman™ threatened to put him up for adoption like his brother anytime he did something bad) and the Adlers went to work trying to find where he'd gone using the resources at their disposal.
Samhain grew up in the system, bouncing around from abusive household to decent household to neglectful household his entire life. He grew emotionally distant because whenever he grew to like something, he was punished for it in one way or another. He developed a bunch of quirks--like a weirdly specific version of mysophobia and a heckuva lot of sexual kinks--as ways for him to cope with what went on in his life.
At age 17, the Adlers finally found Samhain and brought him into their family. He didn't even know he had a brother, but the Adlers are such ridiculously nice and accepting people that he slowly started to open up to them and feel like part of a family for the first time in his life.

HIS INFORMATION:
Sal Schulstone is a man of many wars, battles and skirmishes. Most of his history beyond his first battles are unknown to anyone besides the man himself, he speaks little of his time before his first tastes of battle and silences any conversation attempting to divulge into it. Any inquiries about it are meant with a cold silence and a curt ending to any talk.
He has spent most of his known early years of life on the battlefield with a ragtag team of fellow mercenaries that make their living off of killing others, selling secrets, and working for whatever side of the conflict pays the most. When he was younger he had an entire company of mercenaries under his command called the Curved Coins, to help emphasis their loyalty could be bought with cold hard cash. He stayed at the head of the company for thirty years before they were all killed for working against the wrong sorts that pooled their money together to have the company ripped from the inside out by turning the most influential of the Coiners against each other.
Sal was one of the few to survive the aftermath and since then, he had decided to work only in temporary groups or by himself if he thought he could handle the job himself. He spent the next thirty years as a singular mercenary taking odd jobs ranging from; silent assassinations, guard duty, protection, small skirmishes or even tracking down bounties for families willing to pay double the sums for personal reasons. He traveled the world several times over; being in most places at least once. Given his rather odd heritage, his life and endurance are much lengther than most other humanoids by being well into his late 60s/early 70s while still having the energy and endurance of a room full of men twice as young as him. He gained a reputation for this lifespan and abnormal endurance among employers who began to hire him for more dangerous jobs feeling secure with putting their money on a man with no heirs, no solid future and nothing to lose if he died during the jobs. He earned the ire of several rich individuals with his persistence of living which earned him a bounty that most began to pursue him for.
He went into hiding and stuck to unfamiliar villages and nearly forgotten corners of the world to avoid having to continously defend himself from eager, young hunters that would only add to the body count. Several years passed and he believed himself safe before he was captured by a strange creature simply called, Nine. Sal suffered many abuses at the hands of the creature and found himself being sold off, only to escape from his new 'owner' after they attempted to bend him to a will he did not agree to. He was once again captured by the strange creature that had found him the first time and the abuse he suffered increased exponentionally, finding not even his body was safe from Nine, due to his desire to break Sal.
Sal endured. Unable to be broken but being forced to yield to Nine's mastery over him for periods at a time, Sal manages to escape when he senses Nine's guard is the lowest. He is always keeping his eyes out for any kind of escape even though he always finds himself back in Nine's possession. The punishments and treatments all the more vicious with each return, the occasional tender moments only more powerful. He has no desire to kill Nine or to steal his riches, he simply wants his freedom back. Sal bids his time as Nine's possession for those moments of freedom between his captures.

She's just a terrible person. She likes korean dramas, tends to cry a lot, and has an on and off relationship with her boyfriend. She leads people on because she has problems with her own self confidence.
I have her story going where she ends up really hurting one of her best friends and her friend helps her with therapy :>

Mortimor is always on alert, thinking that at any moment, someone is just going to shoot him in the head, so he tries to avoid being in public for as long as he can.

Remi was one of the victims of his town's dark secret: a factory that took children at a young age to experiment with different types of DNA in their body. Of course, it only worked as well as they expected on him, although they got too overzealous, trying to mix slime with within him too. Micca has split personality disorder, although it is a very rare case in his situation. Long ago, a hanayouma(species I made for his story that are essentially demons that have are granted flowers by their God with a power), stopped his job of basically creating poison to kill humans. The punishment they decided to give him was to send him down to the humans below, to make him see what he gave up his duties for. Micca was unfortunately the victim to receive this entity. It changed his life for the worse, as the demon that now calls himself Ciro is bitter, angry, and takes over his body when he's the weakest to continue killing people.

Oh boy... Tex Tex Tex. The baddest and boujeeist stripper and pole dancer you'll ever meet. He loves asserting his dominance, conceited to the point where he refuses to be topped by anyone unless he deems them worthy. She's basically a magical golem, she barely even qualifies as properly alive. Her body is a vessel locked inside of some crazy temporal magic, and housing her mind, which is kept in a gemstone in her head, rather than her actual brain. Her body stays 'alive' by consuming sources of magic and reversing its age, but theoretically, she could just let it go and it would never really die, sustained by its own enchantments as it gets older and more decrepit and ancient-looking. She did it to herself to create a workaround through death so that she could continue to research and perfect magic basically forever. She's a total busybody, is only truly happy when absorbed into whatever she's working on, and has a tendency to lose track of time in a really horrible way, forgetting to eat or drink or do anything other than research and occasionally rest for weeks or months at a time.
this is jesse! she's a bit of a brat but that's only because she knows what she wants/likes. has a big maternal streak. loves baseball, so she coaches elementary kids' t-ball. has a massive adoration for doggos. (and a hotspot for werewolves. ♥︎) and food. the easiest way to her heart!

This is Garble, he's a tired, grump cat that usually stays up for hours and get less then a few hours of sleep. He doesn't talk much and when he does it's through the phone via emotes. Though he does smile and talk quietly when he's with his partner. He usually wears a hoodie with the :ok_hand: emoticon on it and either sweatpants or pink boxers with hearts on it. He likes staring at ceiling while being lost in his own thought, video games, being a harmless bully and pulling pranks. He eats lots of pizza and orange juice which is why he can be a bit of a chub but he's just a lovable oaf.
