Lol. I tease of course, that works be bad. But how on earth does one level the playing field for equal representation through the con floor?

Alas there's no real simple method. I think, personally, a first-come first-served for half the tables, a quarter reserved for past vendors, which can be juried for whatever, and then a quarter reserved for new artists is pretty fair enough, but everyone has their own opinions. And what pisses me off, is the ones who manage to miraculously get these tables ALWAYS sing hosannas of their favorite convention's methodology. But relying on anonymous jury members, smacks of favoritism, elitism, and just isn't morally right. There needs to be transparency with both the selection criteria, and the members involved with the choosing.

Apparently, there've been a number of artists that have found themselves on the wrong end of that juried system as of late.

But by anonymously having a tie breaking secret 5 vote would be a bit more fair. Nobody knows whom to curry favor with. The vote team doesn't need fear reprisals from those they vote out, etc. Selection criteria does seem fair, giving newbs and veterans due consideration with the remaining con floor of 50% to be going to the first come, first serve crowd. Also out seems to be transparent enough as you seem to know what the ratios are. Imirite? *hugs* Early fox gets the chicken...perhaps you should reserve space a season ahead to ensure you have at least a grab at the 50%?

Consider too that the lucky few that for their reservations are just there by luck of the draw. Anyone telling you otherwise is just lying. It's like being at the local had station after 5pm...

There is always this one motherfucker holding up the line, 20 people deep; that thinks that they have a system to beat lottery scratch off cards. All I want is my cheap pack of cigars, six pack and a splash of gas on pump 4. Takes me 35 minutes to get out of there and by then the parking lot is backing up in a line in the pump islands. No. This vein had a system that won him an extra $10 once. Once. He had to ask the attendant what the last 4 digits are on each card and if there is a green, black, white, blue, etc border displayed around the edges of the scratch off mask. And it just goes on.....and on....

This will probably be the last year that I will be attending... Being down here below the border of Cali, makes it a pricey trip to go back to my old stomping grounds area.
