Ugh, I can't believe people do this. I admit I've traced a while back, but that was just to get an idea of how an artist draws and so that I could get an idea of how they might go about their drawings. I never posted those and would certainly never consider claiming them as my art, though.

I can't understand why people would do this, it's exactly as you said, super rude and disrespectful.

I understand why exactly someone would do this. Not saying it's right, but I understand why. They just want the attention and aren't sure of their own skills enough to try to trace.

But at least the person was a tracer. Some people, as you know, would just re-upload someone else's work. Again, not condoning this in the slightest, but this is not the most egregious version of this story I've seen.

What do people try and gain from tracing? Those people would just feel regretful for doing so, especially once people find out that they are a tracer.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but this is pretty tacky. I don't blame them, though! You're great at what you do and your style was recognizable even through the janky retrace filter.

I never get why people want to take credit for other people's art. There's literally no gain from that other than maybe getting one or two commissions from some extremely gullible people. Meanwhile, the artist has to work hard at the drawings just to have someone else copy-and-paste them. It's bullshit is what it is.

Tracers are on the same level as art thieves and scammers. They all are equally bad, and each one should simply be outright banned to save the trouble.
Stealing is stealing, doesn't matter how you do it, tracing is actually considered art theft. Even one huge art site like DeviantART outright says it's art theft.
A weird note about these people is they tend to be young. However, being ignorant isn't an excuse to do whatever you want. Everyone should hammer the point that this is stealing.

I want to believe this person is joking but wow. I've dealt with a lot of thieves, most young, but most should be mature enough to stop that in that age. I'm not sure what the other policies on other art sites are, but I'm pretty sure she should have to be banned from all of them.
