Being Honest
Now I em not getting on anyone in particular, and don't think I'm mad at this or anything. I just want to get a couple things straight before it actually does. So if anyone would look at my gallery, they would see that I do requests on occasion. And you could probably guess that I have more in the works. All in all it doesn't bother me to do requests. I do like doing them.
There is a point that I'm about to reach though that will make me stop this altogether. Its the constant hounding for me to finish them. I work on requests on my free time. I'm not going devote all of my time on them I'm sorry but I'm not. I have a ton of projects of my own to work on. I'm not just going to be an art slave. All my requests are favors that I do for free. When I constantly get asked for them it only takes away my drive to work on them. It takes every bit of the enjoyment out of it. Its stop being a favor and turns into orders and I'm frankly em getting tired of it. And just think, that i get a lot of people doing this at the same exact time. Everytime I post something I go through this. Like I get the why isn't mine done and how dare you work on stuff for yourself. This is going to stop, or I will just start taking back the offers.
From now on all new request are closed. If you ask for one it will be a no. Now that being said, all of this doesn't apply to my friends. You guys don't worry about this stuff. I enjoy the request and gifts I do for my friends and that's not going to change.
*update* I would like to add that there has been requesters that were a delight to work with and none of this had to do with you guys.

FA+

Lol but yeah it does. Its turns into passive aggressive bullying. Its loses all purpose after that point. Its not a request anymore but a demand. Thoughs days are over.
I would get one in the bunch that would be fun to work with and I genuinely enjoyed doing the pic for. It sorta what keep me doing it for so long but those just don't happen anymore. So it's time to close the doors.
I guess I was a rarity but it's something I should of stopped awhile ago.
Not bc i would ever ask for a request, no, i never do that, i pay for stuff or i just simply say nothing.
This constant search of all the strange ppl for getting free art is really something that sucks.
Hope closing it will help you to be happier!
I think it will help out a good bit. That was all I was basically doing for the past month. And I just got hounded for them faster everytime I posted something. So I just have to hit the off switch and get back to personal projects.
Yeah it just got way out of hand and wasn't worth it anymore.
So yeah I wouldn't start doing them lol
I stand by what I said to you so long ago, and that was to offer your work on commission instead of on request. When you're charging money for your work or doing art or writing trades, you get much, much less of this bullshit. I remember the time we did a trade, and I recall it being a very pleasant experience despite the length of time it took. What people need to understand is that just as Rome wasn't built in a day, so art can't just be pulled out of somebody's arse; it takes time to write or draw it, whether it's a picture, a story, a musical composition or a video game.
You should also put up a very clear terms of service page that your customers must read before doing any business with you; I didn't see one amongst your journals or linked to from your userpage. You'd be free to shun those who ignore it.
With this though I can put more focus on starting up comissions and with that I do plan on setting up a rule page. There has been a couple factors that has slowed me into not starting up comissions but request was a big part of it.
I think you would be able to bring in a lot of customers upon starting to take commissions. Your artistic style is one people have fallen in love with. And if any of your buyers give you trouble, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself.
List goes on but long and short, no one can really make your priorities except yourself. Honestly keep doin' what makes you happy, I enjoy your work for what it is and others do as well. Here's to bright beginnings and a new road ahead, keep it up.
Thanks I appreciate it
