Marvel - Panini - Splitter - Decisions
Hi again!
It has been a very busy month that didn't leave me much time for updates. But since so many things happened all at once, I can talk about some exciting news regarding Myre and my art career. To keep it somewhat short: About two months ago, I've gotten in touch with a rather well known European publisher, called Splitter, who is interested in translating Myre in German and distribute it throughout Europe! The publishers are a bunch of creative people who worked on projects before and stand out with marvelloud print products which are similar to the hardcover version of Myre. With publications like Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series, "Oink!", "Assassin's Creed" and much more, they make up for a great partner in the publishing world. We're currently working on a contract. This can take a long time, and there will be back and forths, but I will keep my eyes open to make the right decisions.
Last weekend, I had the great chance to attend ComicCon in Stuttgart and meet up with more potential publishers and interesting people. As much great receiving Myre was given there, I never expected to meet the people and scouts from Marvel and Panini though! So I was given the chance to talk directly to the talents scout of Marvel and present Myre as well as meeting up the art director of Panini, who are all now expecting me to keep in touch and have digital samples of my work sent over to them! Panini is seeing potential in publishing Myre in German as well, so I'm feeling a bit trapped inbetween decisions.
I'm still tremendously excited and nervous in prospect of all those chances suddenly rushing over me. I know that negotiations and decision making can take some time, but I will make sure to keep you updated on that.
After a very successful first time ComicCon-experience, I will have to catch up and sort out many things. That includes my rollercoaster of emotions and thoughts.
At the last day of CC Stuttgart, I chatted with the guys of Egmont Ehapa whose booth was in front of ours. I've been drooling over their amazing Western style booth design over the entire weekend. They told me about ComicCon in Germany this October. Of course, I might grab the chance and add it to my schedule for this year as well!
To keep you updated about Haunter of Dreams - The linework is now 34 of 60 pages completed! I will continue working on it today and expect to have it all completed by the end of the next month. Wish me luck! :)
Have an awesome week!

Nimm dir viel viel Zeit deine Entscheidung zu treffen und informier dich gut,manche dieser Firmen zahlen schlecht oder garnicht D;;;
Really cannot argue with your art being spread further afield and about the place - because it is fantastic XD
of course that probably isn't news, and knowing it, hasn't always done everyone that much good.
(as an audience i always love better the free imagination of independence,
on the other paw of course, distribution is distribution.
its just the price of marketing beyond a niche, is the partial loss of that niche's special flavor,
in favor of the warm oatmeal that sells to the masses.
i know i'm not helping, and i certainly don't want anyone to starve,
but equally i always dread the loss of unique imaginations
if i didn't, i wouldn't be on f.a. i'd be watching television, which i honestly can't stand)
Im happy the mainstream industry cached up with your talent. I just hope you will not forget about the few degenerate still lurking here :)
Dunno who the others are.
Really depends on your goals, but I suspect you were always the type to work for yourself.
